    Funeral services for Gaynell Jackson, 51, of Milam were held Sunday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc in Hemphill with Bro. Milton Powell and Bro. Eddie Roberts officiating. Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery near Milam.

    She died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 1994, at Colonial Pines Care Center in San Augustine.

    Mrs. Jackson was born Dec. 26, 1942, in Hemphill as a daughter of the late Bertie Viola (McDaniel) and Bill Inman. She had lived in the Milam area for several years.

    Survivors: husband, L. D. "Butch" Jackson of Milam; a daughter Tricia Jackson Hanzel of Milam; four sons, Jimmy Jackson of Decatur, Johnny Jackson of Kerens, Robert Jackson of Mesquite, and Michael "Little Man" Jackson of Milam; two sisters, Fay Conner of Cleburn and Sue Payne of Dallas; five brothers, Wiley Inman, DeWayne Inman, Willie Joe Inman, Albert Lee Inman, and Herbert Leon Inman, all of Dallas; and nine grandchildren.

    Joyce Kathryn Lacoste, 71, died in Hemphill Texas, January 7, 2013. She was born to Jodie McDaniel and Elvie Buckley McDaniel on April 30, 1940. She was a lifelong resident of Hemphill. She owned and operated Toledo Insurance Inc, and was a member of the Hemphill Church of God.

    Joyce was survived by her husband Edward Lacoste of Hemphill, her five sons, George Phillips of Houston, Gilbert Phillips of Vidor, Joseph Harris of Hemphill, Ivy Phillips of Houston, and Ray Don Phillips of Hemphill; one sister, Elsie Miers of Houston; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her son Jason Harris.

    Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM Wednesday evening, January 9, 2013, in the Starr Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Starr Funeral home Chapel, with gravesides services to follow at Myrtle Springs Cemetery.
