    Steve McClelland, 67, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Friday, November 22, 2019 at a Lufkin Hospital.

    Steve was born April 21, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas at the Lackland Air Force Base Hospital to Easul and Florence (Jacks) McClelland. He was a graduate of Hemphill High School and a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He worked as a computer programmer in the petroleum industry where he retired after many years.

    He is survived by his wife, Patricia Brockman McClelland of Hemphill (formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Melodie Rose of Nevada; sons, Stephen Barrett (Barry) McClelland and wife, Ashley, of California and Ben Mullins of North Dakota mother, Florence McClelland of Hemphill; brother, Forrest McClelland and wife, Lynn, of Six Mile Community; sister, Sonya Strickland and husband, Mike, of Hemphill [?the Texas Birth Index instead shows Sonya Strickland as a cousin, a daughter of Earle Gwendolyn JACKS and Marcy Elvin COLLINS?]; grandchildren, Eden McClelland, Hannah Rose, Kai Stevenson, Faith Mullins, Ethan Mullins, and Wyatt Mullins; and several step-children, nieces, and nephews.

    Florence Beatrice McClelland
    September 29, 1933 - January 29, 2021

    Florence Beatrice McClelland, 87, of Wier Gate, Texas (formerly of Sabine County) passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 (sic) in Hemphill Care Center.

    Florence was born on January 29, 1933 in Hemphill, Texas to Marion Jacks and Bessie Wood Jacks. She was a lifetime resident of Sabine County and a member of the Baptist faith. She worked for many years as a hairdresser.

    Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Eausel V. McClelland; her husband of 8 years, Cleburne D. Wells; and her son, Steve McClelland.

    She is survived by her son, Forrest McClelland and wife, Lynne, of Hemphill; her niece, Sonya Strickland and husband, Mike, of Hemphill; six grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.

    Cremation arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home.

    Charles Edward Clark Sr. 62, of Hemphill, died Monday, January 26, 2004, at Triumph North Hospital in Houston.

    He was born May 31,1941, in Hemphill as a son of the late Edward and Arzell (Smith) Clark and had been a lifelong resident of Sabine County. Clark, a machinist with Temple-Inland, was a member of East Mayfield Baptist Church.

    Survivors: wife, Mable Clark; son, Charles Clark, Jr., of Hemphill; daughters, Charlene Clark of Katy and Sherri Lynn Jones and husband Bruce of the Plainview community; brothers, Tommy Clark and Willie Earl Clark, both of Hemphill, and Glen Dale Clark of Rosevine; a sister Carolyn Clark of Port Arthur; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

    Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday January 29, 2004 at the chapel of Starr Funeral Hone Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Vance Purtell officiating. Interment was at Pinehill Cemetery on FM 2024.

    Mable Lee Clark, 77, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in Sabine County Hospital.

    Mable was born on August 11, 1943 in Hemphill to Cleo Whitmire and Clara Estine Jones Whitmire. She was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and had worked many years as a bookkeeper in the lumber industry. She was a graduate of Bronson High School and a member of Broaddus United Pentecostal Church. She loved spending with her family.

    Mable was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Charles Clark, Sr.; and sisters, Margaret Jacks and Bertha Morrison.

    She is survived by her son, Charles Clark, Jr. of Hemphill; daughters, Charlene Clark of Katy and Sheri Jones and husband, Bruce, of Pineland; brother, David Whitmire and wife, Rhonda, of Hemphill; sisters, Janice McDaniel and husband, Jimmy, and Gladys Tatom and husband, Eugene, all of Hemphill; grandchildren, Jessica, Barry, Christopher, Brandon, Channing, Nicole and Chris; and 20 great grandchildren.

    Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

    Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mark Green officiating.

    Burial will follow services in Pine Hill Cemetery with Jay Chance, Justin Whitmire, Jerry Foley, Cadin Clark, Jamie Williams, Peyton Williams, Woodie Foster, and Lee Scott serving as pallbearers.
