Dewitt Moody, 82, of Kirbyville, Texas, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Rayburn Healthcare in Jasper, Texas.

A native of Urania, Louisiana, he had lived in Kirbyville 45 years and was retired from Jasper-Newton Electric Co-op. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Moody; sons, Steve & Debbie Crocker and Jeff & Penny Crocker; daughters, Beckie & Jo Wilkinson, Debra Hoose and Stephanie & Terry Barron; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Verlene "Lynn" Oliver, 84, of Buna, Texas, died Monday, June 29, 2015.

She was born on June 24, 1931, in Pineland, Texas to Maggie Strickland Wilburn and Lihue Tandy Wilburn.

Verlene worked as a beautician at Lynn's Beauty Shop and Higgonbotham Drug in Buna. She also loved to portray Minnie Pearl on the Charlie Pruitt Show at the Jefferson Theatre in Beaumont.

Survivors include her daughters, Becky Wilkinson and her husband, Joe and Debra Hoose; four grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Allen Oliver.

Interment: Antioch Cemetery, Buna, Texas

Maggie Wilburn, 91, of Buna died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at Buna Nursing Home.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at E. E. Stringer Funeral Home in Buna with burial at Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Hemphill, she lived in Buna 43 years and was a retired grocery clerk.

Survivors include her daughter, ?? "Lynn?? Oliver of Buna; sisters, Nannie Watson and Meadie Williams, both of Kirbyville; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

As of the 1910 Sabine County Census, she was listed as the mother of 6 children, all of whom were still living.

Her Texas Death Certificate shows that her parents were Bill HOLT and Margaret FARRIS. The informant was Mrs. W. D. Curl, her daughter, Maudie Strickland Curl. She was widowed, and a 13 year resident of Kirbyville at the time of her death.
