James Kearney did not marry until the age of 39. He married Coma Pearl Haugh in Feb of 1958 and became a grandfather in Oct of 1958. He was a great father to Coma's 2 daughters and a wonderful grandfather to 5 grandchildren. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America due to his grandsons. He is missed every day.

James married Coma Pearl McLemore in Feb 1958. Coma (daughter of James Perry McLemore and Thurzer Barker) was born on 2 Mar 1921 in Trenton, Gibson County, Tennessee; died on 15 Aug 1965 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois; was buried in Mount Auburn Memorial Park, Stickney, Cook County, Illinois.
