  3. 6.  Thomas Richard "T. R." Retherford was born on 12 Feb 1937 in Tyler County, Texas; died on 14 Feb 2015 in Rosevine, Sabine County, Texas; was buried in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Sabine County, Texas.

    Notes:

    T.R. Retherford, 78, of Rosevine, died Saturday morning in his home in Rosevine. He was born in Tyler County, Texas, to the late Richard and Beulah Windham Retherford. T.R. was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army as a sergeant, and was a master mason belonging to the Littleton Fowler Masonic Lodge #305. T.R. worked as Central Office Equipment Technician for the phone company for over twenty-five years. After retiring from Contel Phone Company, he enjoyed working on the family farm raising cattle.

    He is survived by his wife Glenda Griffin Retherford of Rosevine, his daughters; Shonda McGee and husband Tommy of Hemphill, Toni Easley and husband Artie of Rosevine, his grandsons; Brandon Retherford and friend Michelle of Rosevine, Alex Blue and wife Morgan of Rosevine, Kyle Blue and wife Alexis of Milam, his granddaughters; Stormi Retherford and Kylar Easley of Rosevine, great grandchildren; Brantley, Carson, and Brydger, his sister Mayme Mitchell of Orange, sister-in-law LaVerne Retherford of Montesano, WA, his brothers: Robert Hamilton of Hemphill, Thomas Hamilton of Hemphill, his sister Annette Conner of Hemphill and a host of other family and friends.

    T.R. is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Beulah Retherford, his daughter Shelli Lyn Retherford, brothers Charles and Gene Retherford and his sisters LaRue Collier and Mary Coon, and Una Bell Hamilton Cannon.

    Pallbearers were grandsons: Brandon Retherford, Alex Blue and Kyle Blue, nephews Marc Griffin, Marty Griffin and Ronny Fuller.

    Funeral services were held February 16, 2015, at 2:00pm in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating and eulogy given by Marc Griffin. Burial followed in the Gravel Hill Cemetery.

    Rushing Williams

    James Rushing Williams, 68, of Milam died at 11:05 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 1995, at Hemphill Care Center.

    A longtime resident of the Milam area, he was born April 14, 1927, in Shelby County as son of the late James William and Nancy (Hatton) Williams. Williams, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, was a retired millwright at Temple-Inland Pineland Operations and a member of Camp Springs Baptist Church.

    Survivors: wife, Hattie Williams of Milam; two daughters, Brenda Horton of Hemphill and Debbie Smith of Jasper; two sons, Ronnie Williams of Milam and Jimbo Williams of Center; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. W. Clarence Howell and Bro. Vance R. Purtell officiating. Interment was at Gravelhill Cemetery in Sabine County.

    Hattie Jean Williams, 83, died Sunday afternoon in the San Augustine Hospital, San Augustine, Texas. She was born in Center, Texas, to Robert and Iris Bland McCauley. Hattie has lived her life in Milam, Texas, and was a devoted mother and grandmother to her children.

    She is survived by her sons; Ronnie Williams of Brookeland and Jimbo Williams of Pineland, her daughters; Brenda Horton of Hemphill and Lori Williams of Montana, eleven grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers; W.H. McCauley of Nacogdoches, Kenneth, Travis, and Jack McCauley all of San Augustine, Larry McCauley of Melrose, Texas, her sisters; Bobbie Jackson of Houston, Audrey Wells and Betty Loggins both of San Augustine, Texas.

    Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM, Wednesday, December 25, 2013, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM, Thursday, December 26, 2013, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Gravelhill Cemetery near Hemphill.

    Annie Arlee Griffin, 96, died Wednesday morning in her home in Rosevine, Texas. Arlee was born in Sabine County to Robert N. and Ettie Wright Moore. Mrs. Griffin has lived in Rosevine for most of her life and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

    Mrs. Griffin is survived by her daughters; Freddie Jean Fuller and her husband Wayne of Rosevine, Glenda Retherford and her husband T.R. of Rosevine, her sons; Dale Griffin and his wife Carol of Lufkin, Paul Griffin and his wife Helen of Rosevine, Jerry Griffin and his wife Martha of Hemphill, Donald Griffin and his wife Delayne of Rosevine and Phillip Griffin of Rosevine, her daughter-in-law Ruth Griffin of Bronson, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren, and special friends Ann Lout and Betty Sanchez. She was preceded in death by her husband Austin Elbert Griffin, her daughter Bobbie Griffin and her sons Sammy and Eddie Dean Griffin.

    Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 9:00PM, Friday, September 20, 2013, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM, Saturday, September 21, 2013, in the Starr Funeral
