2. | Anderson L. McLemore was born in Sep 1855 in Alabama (son of Sterling P. McLemore and Malinda Callahan); died before 1910 in Calhoun County, Mississippi. Notes:
Melba Gene McLemore quotes Luke Tyler as telling her that "Anderson was killed cutting the top of an Oil & Gas barrel, which exploded." Luke's wife was the granddaughter of W.H. "Will" HANNAFORD, brother of Lula Ann Hannaford McLemore. Luke also informed Melba that Dudley Davis of Reid, Mississippi had a box of material about this family that came to him from the home of the late Iris McLemore.

Sterling + Malinda Callahan. Malinda (daughter of Miles T. Callahan and Dicey White) was born between 1827 and 1830 in Tennessee; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
|
5. | Malinda Callahan was born between 1827 and 1830 in Tennessee (daughter of Miles T. Callahan and Dicey White); and died. Notes:
Melba Gene McLemore speculates that Sterling's wife is the same Malinda Callahan that lived only several households away from him at the time of the 1850 Marion County, Alabama census. This appears to be based on both her relatively uncommon first name, along with her age and birthplace, plus the fact that Sterling's sister, Lucretia Jane married Malinda Callahan's brother, James Callahan. This has not been proven.

Generation: 4
8. | Abner McLemore was born after 1785 in North Carolina (son of Sterling McLemore and Rebecca ???); died after 1860 in Alabama. Notes:
Melba Gene McLemore cites the following reference to Abner from "Orphan's Court, January Term, 1829: Friday morning, nine o'clock Court met pursuant to adjournment. Notice having been given for forty days as required by a former order of this Court, John GREGG Sheriff of said County adminstrator de bones non of all and singular goods and chattels rights and credits which were of William ALSUP deceased at the time of his death presents the following statement as final settlement of the administratin of said goods:
11 paid Abner McLEMORE $66.50
Interest thereon for four years $21
Melba Gene McLemore writes that he died between 1860 and 1870 in Lawrence County, Alabama. Did he return to Lawrence? As of the 1860 census it appears he was living in Mississippi.
