Lola B. Smith

Lola B. Smith, 76, of Geneva died Monday, April 22, 1996, at Nacogdoches Medical Center Hospital in Nacogdoches.

Born March 26, 1920 in Sabinetown as a daughter of the late Walter and Lana (Gooch) Felts, she was a longtime resident of Geneva and a member of Geneva United Methodist Church. Mrs. Smith was a retired teacher with the Geneva and Sexton schools.

Survivors: husband, Carl Smith of Geneva; two daughters, Karen Fountain of Fred and Cathy Durrett of Lubbock; a son, Jay Smith of Chireno; a sister Eula Wood of Hemphill; two brothers, Shay Felts and Buddy Felts, both of Hemphill; and six grandchidlren, Leigh Ann Fountain, Ryan Durrett, Adam Smith, Eric Smith, Kara Fountain, and Mandy Durrett.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Aldous Smith and Bro. W. Clarence Howell officiating. Interment was in Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Geneva.

Rushing Williams

James Rushing Williams, 68, of Milam died at 11:05 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 1995, at Hemphill Care Center.

A longtime resident of the Milam area, he was born April 14, 1927, in Shelby County as son of the late James William and Nancy (Hatton) Williams. Williams, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, was a retired millwright at Temple-Inland Pineland Operations and a member of Camp Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors: wife, Hattie Williams of Milam; two daughters, Brenda Horton of Hemphill and Debbie Smith of Jasper; two sons, Ronnie Williams of Milam and Jimbo Williams of Center; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. W. Clarence Howell and Bro. Vance R. Purtell officiating. Interment was at Gravelhill Cemetery in Sabine County.

Hattie Jean Williams, 83, died Sunday afternoon in the San Augustine Hospital, San Augustine, Texas. She was born in Center, Texas, to Robert and Iris Bland McCauley. Hattie has lived her life in Milam, Texas, and was a devoted mother and grandmother to her children.

She is survived by her sons; Ronnie Williams of Brookeland and Jimbo Williams of Pineland, her daughters; Brenda Horton of Hemphill and Lori Williams of Montana, eleven grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers; W.H. McCauley of Nacogdoches, Kenneth, Travis, and Jack McCauley all of San Augustine, Larry McCauley of Melrose, Texas, her sisters; Bobbie Jackson of Houston, Audrey Wells and Betty Loggins both of San Augustine, Texas.

Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM, Wednesday, December 25, 2013, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM, Thursday, December 26, 2013, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Gravelhill Cemetery near Hemphill.
