    Sabine County Justices of the Peace attended a 20-hour seminar in Tyler that was conducted by the Texas Justice Court Training Center headquartered at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos.     Obituary

    Bobby Glenn White, 76, of Bronson, Texas died at his home Monday, February 6, 2017. He was born in Sabine County, December 21, 1940, to William Curtis (1905-1990) and Freddie Miller White (1914-1985). Bobby attended Bronson I.S.D. for 12 years. He was Mr. Bronson high School, an FFA Officer, an Annual Staff member, Class Officer, Boy Scout, and a member of the Bronson Bulldogs basketball and baseball teams. Bobby graduated Bronson High School in 1959, going on to attend Lamar University where he earned an Associate's Degree. Bobby served two terms as a West Sabine I.S.D. School Board member, served as the Sabine County Precinct Two Justice of the Peace for eighteen years, and retired as a supervisor for Temple-Inland. He was a member of Pinehill Methodist Church.

    He is survived by his wife, Jean White, of Bronson, Texas; his two sons, Curtis White and wife, Brenda, and Rocky White and wife Margaret, all of Bronson; his brothers, Burl White and wife, Helen, and Earl White and his sister, Johnnie Phillips and husband, Glen, also all of Bronson, six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

    Visitation will be held 5 pm to 9 pm, Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Plainview Cemetery.

    Jean White, 76, of Bronson, Texas passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021 at her residence.

    Jean was born on January 29, 1945 in Sabine County to James H. Harrison and Bertie Mae McClelland. She was a loving mother and housewife.

    She is survived by her sons, Curtis White and wife, Brenda of Bronson, and Rocky White and wife, Margaret of Bronson; sisters, Gayla McBride, Jennifer Brit, Joanna Spates and Tempie McCary; grandchildren, Dustin White and wife, Joy of Buna, Bradley White and wife, Chelsea of Hemphill, Tim Forse, and wife Denna of Pineland, LaSha White of Bronson, DeEsta Jones and husband, Tyler of Pineland, Britney Quick and husband, Joey of Pineland; sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby White; great grandson, Kyren Lane Mobley; parents, James and Bertie Harrison and sister, Shelia Whitton.

    Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Glen Middleton officiating.

    Visitation will begin one hour prior to service.

    Burial will follow services in Plainview Cemetery in Pineland, Texas with Bradley White, Dustin White, Tim Forse, John Nelson, Joey Quick, Tyler Jones, Brandon White and Tommy Jenkins serving as pallbearers.

    At the time of the 1930 census enumeration, he was living two households away from his future wife, Bertie McClelland. They both lived on Lanier Hemphill and Bronon Public Road in the first precinct of Sabine County, Texas. She was in household 103-107, with her parents Archie and Clara McClelland.     Bertie Mae Harrison, 88, died Friday morning in her home in the Plainview Community after an illness. She was born in Sabine County to Archie and Clara Harley McClelland. Mrs. Harrison retired from the West Sabine I.S.D. She has lived in the Plainview area all her life and belonged to the Strickland Crossing Church of God.

    She is survived by her daughters Gayla McBride and her husband Ralph, Jean White and her husband Bobby of Bronson, Jennifer Britt and her husband Britt of Center, JoAnn Speight and her husband Steve of Lufkin and Tempie McCary and her husband Kelvin of Bronson, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her son-in-law Jim Whitton of Pineland and her brother Donald McClelland of Hemphill. Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her daughter Shelia Whitton, a great grandchild Kaitlyn Flaherty and great great grandchild Kyren Mobley.

    Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM, Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St, Hemphill, TX. Funeral services will be at 2:00PM, Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Plainview Cemetery near Pineland.
