3. | Martha "Mattie" Hines was born in Aug 1859 in Louisiana; died on 9 Oct 1936 in Groesbeck, Limestone County, Texas. Notes:
Her mother was born in Mississippi, and her father in Georgia. Mrs. B.A. Foster, who lived with Martha and William at the time of the 1900 census, was listed as being born in Mississippi, with her mother born in Kentucky and her father in South Carolina.
Her death certificate, viewable online at FamilySearch.org (Texas Deaths, 1890-1976) shows her as Mrs. Mattie Morthyann Barge, resident of RFD #3, Grosbeck, Texas. She was lsited as the widow of Bill Barge, born in 1858, age 78 and a housekeeper. Her birthplace was simply shown as U.S.A., with her father listed as Jimmie Hines and no mother's name lsited. The informant was C. M. Barge, who could be reached c/o the Mexia Cotton Mill. She was buried at Lost Pines Cemetery on October 10, 1936.

According to the 1900 census, William and Martha had been married for 22 years, and she was the mother of 11 children, 6 of whom were still living. Martha's widowed mother, B.A. FOSTER, born May 1836 in Mississippi, was living with them. Mrs. Foster was the mother of 8 children total, 4 of them still living.
