WYLLIE SPAULDING 27 Aug 1925 Feb 1980 76457 (Hico, Hamilton, TX ) 76457 (Hico, Hamilton, TX ) 465-22-0051 Texas
The date of death on Social Security Death Index is later than the date of death shown on the Texas Death Index. This should be resolved. Is it possible that there were two Wyllie Spauldings? Or was the later date of death, within a couple of months, merely a clerical error?

"On the Bright Side: "I Remember" Part 2"
By Mary Howell
He taught school in Rosevine and served as County School Tax Assessor. Drayton had an uncanny sense of humor and loved to pull pranks on his friends. One time he even master-minded the building and landing of a UFO and even put a letter written in a foreign language in his contraption. He situated it so that his croquet-playing friends would find it. News of Hemphill's UFO spread like wildfire throughout East Texas.

Gloria Speights McBeth, age 86, of Houston, Texas, passed away on July 29, 2016. The youngest of nine children, she was born in Hemphill, Texas to Tom and Arley Speights on November 17, 1929. She was preceded in death by her parents, all siblings except one dear sister, and her beloved husband, Ted McBeth.
Gloria had a joyful spirit and was rarely without a smile on her face. Her father passed away when she was three-years-old, and Gloria was raised by her mother during the Great Depression. She was voted "Most Popular" and played on the Hemphill High basketball team. She was proud of her Hemphill heritage and returned often for family and school reunions.
As a young career woman, Gloria worked at a bank in downtown Houston in the '50s. It was here where her future husband was encouraged by an aunt to meet a pretty girl she knew at church when he visited from his studies at A&M. She was right. Gloria and Ted were soul mates who held hands every day of their long marriage. Bless you, Aunt Mildred.
Gloria's banking career was put on hold to work at home as a wife and mother to two daughters. She enjoyed entertaining, gardening, cooking, traveling, reading and was an excellent Bridge player. Gloria's greatest joy in life was her family which extended from her husband and two daughters to three grand-daughters and a great grand-son. "Gigi" as she was affectionately known, taught her granddaughters the lost art of cooking and sewing as well as to seek adventures in life. She gave them unconditional love and the most amazing Christmas stockings a child ever knew for which she shopped all year long. Her home was filled with love and endless support, helping them become women of strength and substance. Always stylish, Gloria's inner beauty and loving personality far outweighed the exterior. But outings to Neiman's and Sakowitz with her growing up -with lessons on how to work the sale rack '96 will never be forgotten.
Gloria was also a woman of strong faith, counting bible studies and volunteering at church among life's rewards. She led by example in her endeavors. Perseverance to overcome obstacles included swim lessons as an adult since she wasn't taught as a child. Though she learned to swim, she never took to water. Her aversion to water extended to dietary choices. Seafood was off limits and she often told people she was "allergic" to avoid further questions. This was the one area in which she was known to take license with the truth. She had no known food allergies.
As the wife of a Chemical Engineer, Gloria learned to move from city to city. From Lake Jackson to Odessa to Lake Charles and finally back to Houston, Gloria made each transition as easy as possible for her family. Not one to complain, we never knew West Texas wasn't to her liking until years later. Gloria returned to her banking career upon arrival in Houston in the early '80s when she inquired about a job at her new bank and was hired on the spot. Her financial prowess continued as she enjoyed investing in the stock market with her husband and recently instructed at age 85 that her "bond man" be called from her hospital bed. Her mind was as sharp as her spirited wit.
Gloria is survived by daughters, Patricia Chandler (Robert), Mary McBeth (Jim Crump); granddaughters, Michele Reed, Jillian Pennington, Charlotte Pennington; great-grandson, Cameron Reed, and countless friends whose support is much appreciated. You will be missed, Gigi.

William was suffering from yellow fever, and died in the river crossing and was buried on the banks of the river. His new widow, Rebecca Hopkins Speights continued the journey to Texas and settled in Sabine County in 1843...

Laura Buckmaster shows her as a daughter of Dave SPEIR and Minnie Ola PICKETT. Barbara Yancey Dore spells this as SPIER, with Kay Parker McCary, on her annotated transcription of the Gravel Hill Cemetery, showing Donley Boyett was married to Ethel SPEARS, but later shows Ethel M. Speir Boyett (10-9-1964) as a spouse of Elisha O. Boyett.
Bonnie Seiler shows her as the daughter of Arthur SPELL and Elsie FAIRCLOTH. She is linked to these parents on FindAGrave as well.
At the time of the 1900 census, 75 year old Nancy Spell was living with the family. Assumed to be the mother of Nancy Elizabeth. Her date of birth was listed as Mar 1824, her marital status single, and her relationship, inexplicably, as "Nephew."
In 1910, Nancy Elizabeth appears to be listed twice, as follows:
North Carolina, Cumberland County, Fayetteville, ED 49 16 April 1910

In 1920, she is living with Oscar B., in the Little Coharie Township of Sampson County, and nearby Alvin and Dennis.
In 1930, she is living with her son Dennis in Little Coharie Township, and is listed as Elizabeth, age 69.
Her tombstone, in the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Sampson County, NC, shows her as "Nancy E. wife of L. H. McLemore 10 Mar 1860-6 Aug 1930, A tender mother and a faithful friend."
Her sister Sarah, was married to Thomas CLIFTON, the Clifton's and McLemore's being neighbors.
When Elizabeth's father, William SPENCE died in early 1758, his will left all of his land to another daughter, Mary, and left his son-in-law John five shillings, apparently for Elizabeth. Other bequests were made to SPENCE's son John and to (daughter?) Lucy POWELL, with Simon TURNER Sr. named as executor. (Southampton Will Book 1, p. 240). John McLemore sued his father-in-law's estate, receiving a conditional judgement on October 12, 1758 (Southampton Order Book 2, p. 460), which matured at the next term of court into a full judgement on November 9, 1758 (Order Book 2, p. 469). A jury was ordered impaneled to hear the issue of damages only, and they did so on January 12, 1759, finding for him in the amount of 12 pounds, 5 shillings, 9 pence, 3 farthings (Order Book 2, p. 483). (James L. McLemore, III, p. 60).
Note that William Spence's executor, Simon Turner, own will dated July 7, 1761, was witnessed by Thomas Clifton (husband of Sarah McLEMORE), John McLEMORE, Jr., Elizabeth McLEMORE (John's wife), and Mary SPENCE.
The rich and happy life of Beatrice Mae Condit of Arco, Idaho, came to an end on Saturday, July 16, 2016, after 87 years.
She was born in Belding, Mich., the middle child of Eva Mae Corbett and Sigmund William Spencer. She married the love of her life, Clayton Max Condit, in 1951. After living in England for his tour of duty with the Air Force, they returned to Idaho and had two daughters, Celeste and Deirdre.
Inspired by her work at Fort Hall Reservation, Beatrice then completed her bachelor's degree in anthropology at Idaho State University. She enjoyed teaching linguistics until she and Clay moved to Arco to manage the airport around 1980. After they moved into town, she helped many students and young people with school and life. They shared their love and home with Janice Carlson, Jerry Burgoyne, Ryan Becker, Ben Jensen and his brother, Josh.
Bea enjoyed politics, bridge, crossword puzzles and talking with people. She adored her granddaughters, Corbette and Moira, and loved and admired her sister, Margaret, and her younger brother, Bill.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 22, at Anderson Funeral Home in Arco. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Arco "Pretty City" Committee.
Diana, Princess of Wales (Diana Frances n?e Spencer; 1 July 1961 ? 31 August 1997) was a member of the British royal family and an international personality of the late 20th century as the first wife of Charles, Prince of Wales, whom she married on 29 July 1981. The wedding, which was held at St. Paul's Cathedral, was televised and watched by a global audience of over 750 million people. The marriage produced two sons: Princes William and Harry, currently second and third in line to the thrones of the 16 Commonwealth realms, respectively.
A public figure from the announcement of her engagement to Prince Charles, Diana was born into an old, aristocratic English family with royal ancestry, and remained the focus of worldwide media scrutiny before, during and after her marriage, which ended in divorce on 28 August 1996. This media attention continued following her death in a car crash in Paris on 31 August 1997, and in the subsequent display of public mourning a week later. Diana also received recognition for her charity work and for her support of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines. From 1989, she was the president of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
Randi McKie, Dorothea's granddaugher, writes that "Mom Mom first married a man by the last name of Leggett and had a son named Dewey Elton LEGGETT. The marriage was short lived and they divorced. She was working as a waitress in a restaurant where she met her second husband, William John "Bill" ALBERT of Brooklyn, New York, and they were the parents of Sondra Elizabeth ALBERT, born 1943, in Philadelphia. Bill was a mechanical engineer. He tried to adopt Dewey, but Dewey's biological father refused to relinquish his parental rights. Dewey was raised by Bill and considered him his father, later taking the Albert name as his own. Dewey and Sondra grew up in Barrington, NJ, and attended Haddon Heights High School.
Randi McKie, Sondra's daughter, added that "In the early 1960's my Mom met my father, Arthur Murray Holmstock in Atlantic City, NJ. They were both working down there that summer. My Mom had a job dancing (not anything explicit, she was a trained ballerina) and my father attended a parking lot. She and a friend made plans to double date with my father and his friend. My Dad was to go out with her friend and she was to go out with his. Mom's friend got sick and my Dad's friend couldn't make it, so that is how my parents got together. Mom gave birth in April 1966 to my brother, Joel Micah Holmstock. And to me in September 1967. Joel still has not married. I married in 2003 and have a 22 year old step daughter."
Edward John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer, MVO (24 January 1924 ? 29 March 1992) was the son of Albert Edward John Spencer, 7th Earl Spencer and Lady Cynthia Elinor Beatrix Hamilton, and the father of Diana, Princess of Wales. Lord Spencer held the offices of County Councillor for Northamptonshire (1952), High Sheriff of Northamptonshire (1959) and Justice of the Peace for Norfolk (1970).[1] He served as Equerry to King George VI (1950? 52) and to Queen Elizabeth II (1952? 54),[2] and was invested as a Member of the Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 1954.[1]
On 1 June 1954, Lord Althorp and the Hon. Frances Ruth Roche, the younger daughter of the 4th Baron Fermoy, were married in Westminster Abbey by Percy Herbert, Bishop of Norwich. They had five children:
Lady Sarah McCorquodale (b.1955)
Jane Fellowes, Baroness Fellowes (b.1957)
John Spencer (1960)
Diana, Princess of Wales (1961? 1997)
Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer (b.1964)
Lord and Lady Althorp were unexpectedly divorced in April 1969. Lord Spencer later won a bitter custody battle for Diana. On 14 July 1976, Lord Spencer married Raine, Countess of Dartmouth, the former wife of the 9th Earl of Dartmouth, and the only daughter of the romantic novelist Barbara Cartland and Alexander McCorquodale.

Valerie Atkinson writes that she married Henry Dennis and was living with her husband and brother Homer Spencer at the time of the 1900 federal census. She appeared to have changed her first name to Rena.
Valerie Atkinson shows him as the son of Joseph SPENCER and Almanza HOPKINS. She notes that the family bible instead shows his date of birth as May 31, 1861, contradicting the 1880 census, with a May 1863 birthdate. That same census shows his with the middle initial E.
She indicates that in 1870 and 1880, he was listed on the census in Gilford, Tuscola County, Michigan. In 1900, he was in Clayton, Arenac County, and in 1910 in Moffat, Arenac County.

Pioneer of Tuscola Found Dead at Gilford
Brother Died in the Same Way Four Years Ago, and Strange to Say the Same Barn
Joseph Spencer, age 76 years, one of the oldest pioneers of Tuscola County, a Veteran of the Mexican and late Civil War, was found dead in his barn, rear of resident, near Gilford last night at 8:00 by a neighbor named Gilbert Quipp. A coroner's inquest was held and a verdict of death from heart disease was rendered. A wife and four children survive him. His brother Manuel was found dead in the same barn four years from the same disease. Another brother, Moses, was shot at Bay City in the 60's by a rough character, dying afterwards from the effects of his wounds.

The Striffler-Benkelman Broadcast, Volume 11, published September 6, 1948, reported that Margaret Spencer, of Bellville, was on the staff of the Jackson Co. Library at Indepence, Mo. The 1964 issue of the same periodical reported that she had been teaching for the past two years in the University of Honolulu while working on her Doctors Degree in Education.
Art Peck wrote that Dr. Spencer was an instructor at the University of Hawaii, in the department of Far Eastern Language.

Randi McKie emailed that "Thelma married Otis Taylor, a master plumber from VA. I believe all the children (she and her siblings) grew up in Hopewell, VA. Thelma and Otis settled in Madison Heights, VA (outside of Lynchburg) and had two children, Shirley and Gary. Shirley first married a man named Woody (last name) who came from a prominent family in Madison Heights. They had two children, Lynn and Gwen. Shirley divorced and married Buddy (Marshall) Coleman who worked for the Lynchburg Sheriffs Department. They had one daughter, Tina Coleman. Uncle Otis died in March of 2000 from a heart attack. He was buried in Madison Heights, VA. with full military honors.
Gary Taylor married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie. They had two children, Chad and Kelsi. They still live in Madison Heights today. Gary became a master plumber like his father and Chad was following this also. Kelsi became a physical therapist.
Thelma died around the 2005 possibly cancer. Shirley passed around 2007 from throat cancer due to years of smoking. I am not sure how many grandchildren that Shirley has: Lynn had at least two girls, Gwen had at least two and Tina has at least one."
