  Notes	In a letter dated 22 October, 1994, Elizabeth Gill wrote: "My husband's grandmother was a McLemore. She had a brother, John T. born in 1846 in Texas. They lived in Timpson, Shelby Co. Her father was Adkin. This grandmother was widowed after the Civil War. I have a newspaper clipping stating that her husband, William H. DARNELL died in 1866. She had another child (of doubtful parentage) in 1873. Her obituary (1919) states explicitly that Mr. Darnell died in 1873. She later remarried a COOPER and died in Oklahoma." Diana Noel shows this second spouse as John COOPER, born 1837 in Texas.
