- After his marriage, he bought 160 acres in Saline County, Nebraska SW1/4 in Section 18 Atlanta Township. Albert was one of the progressive farmers of the community, engaging extensively in pure-bred stock raising of the first Shorthorn Cattle in this community, Percheron horses and Poland China hogs. He raised peacocks and had the first pheasants by ordering eggs from Pennsylvania and hatching them. He also had the first alfalfa grown in the area. (Milligan, p 215)
