Notes |
Married:
- Their 1906 Pennsylvania application for a marriage license lists the couple of Christopher Hoover and Sally E McSwiney, ages 22 and 18. He was a resident of Atwood, and she of Willet. Christopher was shown as a son of Zena H and Elizabeth Hoover, and Sally as a daughter of Dennis and Frances L. McSwiney.
Due to her age, Sally's mother, Frances gave her written consent. Christopher was listed as a Liveryman, and Sally as "at home."
Witnesses were William E Doran (the Justice of the Peace, who filed the license) and Susan A Trumble. They were married by the Rev. P.J. Howe, a Catholic Priest.
When their daughter Olive Ruth was born in 1912, she was shown as their fourth child, all still living. Apparently the third child, name and sex unknown, was born after the 1910 census, but died before the 1920 census.
Census records show a son born in 1916, but not other children listed with the family, though there are several other children listed in both her and her husband's obituaries?
