Christopher was one of 10 children, 8 boys and 2 girls although he was the only one to come to Louisiana. Christopher traveled south by way of Kentucky with his parents while young, married in Arkansas and then moved to Texas. After one year, he moved to the Sabine Parish area. Christopher was one of the first settlers in the Negreet area of Sabine Parish settling on Rio Hondo lands. He had over $15,000 in community property at the time of his death. 666 I13677  Anthony  Sarah Rebecca "Becky"  27 Oct 1865  8 Jun 1938  Said to be the daughter of Thomas Anthony of Alabama by his wife, Abigail.

Subject: Re: family hx?

Below is info from my dad.

...I searched Ancestry.com for Rebecca Anthony born in Alabama and came up with the 1880 census showing her born in Alabama, but living in Sabine, Texas at age 16 (a single child). I feel confident that this was our Becky because the Warden/Travis families are connected to Sabine, TX. I also noted that Becky's parents were Thomas and Abigail Anthony - Thomas being born in Alabama in 1835 and Abigail in Tennessee. The 1880 census also shows that Thomas's parents were both born in Georgia.

Searching on Thomas Anthony born in Alabama, I found family tree files that showed Thomas Anthony born in 1835 in Alabama whose father was also named Thomas (no birth date) and mother named Ann R. Carter born in 1806 with their marriage taking place in Georgia. The files further show the older Thomas's father to be Micajah Anthony born in Virginia in 1759 and his mother was Rebecca Williams born abt 1782 (23 years age difference?) and married in Georgia in about 1805. All their children were born in Georgia. The files show Micajah's parents as Joseph Anthony born in1750 in Louisa County, VA of all places and Elizabeth Clark born in 1754. The files further show this Joseph Anthony's father was also named Joseph born in Henrico County, VA in 1713 and mother's name of Elizabeth Clark(?) born 1719 in Louisa County, VA. This older Joseph Anthony had 15 children, most of them born in Louisa County, and he died in Wilkes County, Georgia, which appears to be where his grandson Micajah was living. These files do not trace this family history any further back.
