His family is heartbroken by his untimely passing but finds comfort in knowing Ben had a noble end, dying while helping friends with an Eagle Scout Project in the Texas heat.

Ben was born in Austin, Texas on January 12, 1989, to the late legendary Texas artist, Walter S. Falk, III and Rhonda Stout Falk, who survives him. Ben is also survived by the love of his life, Alyssa Ferguson, their precious daughter, Frannie Anne and their son, Walter S. Falk, IV expected to arrive this winter. He is also survived by his devoted sister, Sheryl Falk and her husband, Richard Retz, Houston, and his loving brother, Nathan Falk and his wife, Amanda Yzaguirre and nephew, Jackson Pearce, Houston. He is also survived by a host of beloved cousins, aunts, and uncles and a large circle of faithful friends, whose outpouring of love and support has been extraordinary.

From an early age, Ben loved his Country inspired by his grandfather, Walter Falk, Jr., who served as the Mayor of Rockport. Ben was active in the Boy Scouts and graduated from Rockport-Fulton High School. At 17 years old, Ben volunteered to serve our Country by joining the Army where he was proud to earn his wings as a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter pilot. He was honorably discharged as a Chief Warrant Officer (CW2). While serving, Ben studied Electrical Engineering Technologies at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and obtained a B.S. in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He achieved his dream of becoming a lawyer, graduating from Texas Tech Law School where he won national recognition for his advocacy skills. He was a well-respected lawyer at Anderson Roberts PLLC and an owner of Championship Title.

Ben was incredibly intelligent, loquacious, and kind. His love for others really shined in the world around him, and his generous nature caused him to have many loyal friends. All agree, Ben was larger than life, with a heart to match. He inherited the fun gene from his dad, Terry and was the life of every party. He delighted his family and friends with his zest for life, his razor-sharp wit, and his entertaining stories. Ben always had adventures to share, including his climb of Kilimanjaro, trek through the Himalayas to Everest Base camp, and dance with Massai warriors in Africa.

Ben's life was tragically too short. His deepest sorrow would have been leaving his young children, which were his proudest achievement in life. He would want them to know how much joy they brought him and that wherever he is, he will watch over them and help in any way possible.

Ben was one of a kind. He was much loved, and he left a deep mark on the world in his short time. He will live on through his beautiful children, through his stories, and in the hearts of all who knew him.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. to honor him at Key Allegro Yacht Club, 1796 Bayshore Drive, Rockport, Texas. As Ben loved celebrations, there will be another celebration held in Austin in August, 2023.

The son of the late Anne and Lt. Col. Walter S. Falk, Jr., he is survived by wife Rhonda Stout Falk, Rockport; daughter Sheryl Falk, Houston; sons Nathan and Benjamin Falk, Rockport, sister Patricia Falk, Bridgeport, CT; and devoted friends and collectors around the world.

Born Sept. 20, 1945, in Philadelphia, Walter graduated from The University of Texas at Austin. He attended graduate school in philosophy, but when his advisor lost his Ph.D. dissertation, Falk crossed Guadalupe St. and began painting and selling watercolors on the sidewalk. Falk pushed to establish a dedicated marketplace for artists and craftspeople, which led to the creation of the People's Renaissance Market.

Falk was an exquisite artist with a distinctive artistic style-lyrical, whimsical and captivating. He combined dreamlike color in watercolor, acrylic, or oil backgrounds, with human figures inked with unerring gesture and movement, with brief, poetic titles. He had gallery shows, but he felt art belonged to the people, not to the upper crust alone. So he sold his paintings on the street and in festivals, which made him a keen human observer, contributing to his artistic reach even as it challenged him materially. Walter loved beauty, and made many sacrifices for his art. He sold nearly 40,000 original works in his life time, an achievement friends believe is unequalled, and he sold them on every continent on the globe.

Falk traveled extensively throughout Mexico, Canada, Europe, and South America. He had great adventures, climbing pyramids, mountains, and waterfalls, swimming with alligators and fighting bandidos. He shared his adventurous spirit in his paintings and through his captivating stories. He was a larger than life character who has been compared to Hemingway and Steinbeck. He relished life, and stayed true to himself throughout his.

A funeral service will be held this Sunday, 2:30 pm, at the First United Methodist Church, Rockport. A celebration of his life will be held soon in Austin. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made toward any charity supporting the arts or the environment or the American Heart Society.

John Keith Falkenberry, 62, of Houston died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008.

Falkenberry had worked for Lyondell Citco as an engineer before retiring. He was a member of the San Augustine Redland Masonic Lodge #3 and a thirty-second degree Shriner.

Survivors: his wife of 16 years, Diane Falkenberry; children and step-children, Christopher Nolan Falkenberry, Carlan David Falkenberry, Tammy Windy Mejorado, Rhonda and Laura, Michael Duane Powell and wife Cindy, John Kevin Powell, and Brian Alan Powell and wife Angela; brother, Miles Falkenberry; 13 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Carter Funeral Home's chapel in Houston. Graveside Masonic rites followed at 3:30 p.m. at Rosevine Cemetery in Sabine County.

Falkenhagen rites to be held Thursday

Funeral services for Harry Falkenhagen, 83, were to be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ira Wood officiating. Burial was to follow in Mooretown cemetery, Snover.

Mr. Falkenhagen died Sunday, Jan. 2, at Hills and Dales Hospital where he had been a patient one week. He had been in ill health for several years.

He was born in Saginaw county April 23, 1888, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Lotie Betkie Falkenhagen. He was married to Miss Fredia BRANDT July 18, 1916. She died Oct. 9, 1943.

He was married to Miss Gertrude Stiffler Sept. 14, 1948, in Cass City. They moved to Cass City eight years ago from Snover, where they lived until his death.

He attended the Salem United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Evelyn) SMITH of Snover; two sisters, Mrs. Rose SCHREIBER of Saginaw and Mrs. Nettie WIHRMAN of Lapeer; a brother, Guy of Reese; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Twelve brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Dundee ? Fern E. Bengelsdorf, 75 of Dundee, Mich., died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe after a 15-month bout with breast cancer.

Born Oct. 9, 1932, in Sturgis, Mich., she was a daughter of John and Nina (Buchholz) Falkenstein.
She was married to Robert C. Bengelsdorf on March 14, 1953, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis by Rev. Herbert Heidenreich.

Fern was a homemaker; a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Monroe, where she was a Sunday School teacher for 30 years; a former volunteer at the Lutheran Home in Monroe, and a 1950 graduate of Sturgis High School.

Surviving are: her husband, Robert of Dundee; a son, Steve Bengelsdorf of Monroe; a daughter, Jayne (Rob) Williams of Katy, Texas; a brother, George Falkenstein of Canton, Ga.; and three grandchildren, Bryan, Jeffrey and Michael Williams.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Douglas Bengelsdorf.

Friends may call from 1? 9 p.m. today at the Rupp Funeral Home, Monroe. She will lie in state from 10 a.m. Thursday until services at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Monroe. Rev. Stanley AuBuchon, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dundee, Mich.

She was a Sunday school teacher for many years, served on many committees, and loved mission work. She was a volunteer at the Crossroads Village. She married Carl R. Ammerman, September 29, 1936. She loved flowers, gardening, sewing and her home where she lived since 1950.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Susanne Dillman and husband Richard of Saginaw; a special grandson, Jon Dillman and Jill Burk of Saginaw; a special great-grandson, Levi Dillman of Saginaw; a step-grandson, Mitchell Ker; and sister Clara Brewer and husband Lloyd of Flint. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl on January 3, 2000; a baby daughter on August 15, 1943; a beloved granddaughter, Janeen Dillman on August 5, 1944. Also preceding her in death were her parents, J.W. and Lillie Farrington; sisters, Leah Jane VanWagoner and Lilliemae Baden and brother, Donald Farrington.

Mrs. Holder is survived by her husband, A. C., of the home, one daughter, Betty Schoeneman of Sioux City, Iowa and one son, Richard Holder of Salt Lake City, Utah. A daughter, Joyce Holder Small, preceded her in death on July 30, 1968. There are also five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren surviving. She is survived by her daughters; Lynn Burch and husband Randy of Pineland, Kathy Lindsey and husband Coleman of the Plainview Community; her brother Bruce Faulk and his wife Rae of Georgetown, Tx; grandchildren, Kris Burch and Michelle, Angela Burch, April Daniel and husband Michael, C.C. Scott and husband Brandon; great grandchildren, Cynlee, Drew, Janice, Jackson, Kylee, Justin, Ean, Allie and Allek. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman; her parents, Carruth and Gussie and her sister, Joyce Sing.

MRS. J.C. CORKINS DIED SUDDENLY SUNDAY.

Will Be greatly Missed in the Church and by Neighbors and Friends.

Like a bolt of lightning from a clear sky came the news of the sudden death of Mrs. John C. Corkins at her home on West Main Street Sunday afternoon [February 5, 1911], and the entire community was saddened at the thought of the death of one of the most beautiful and highly repected residents of the village.

On Sunday morning Mrs. Corkins entered the sacred realm of motherhood and she and her tiny babe passed away shortly after noon. Everything that human hands and hearts could do was done to save the lives, two physicians being in attendance. The cause of death was one known as placenta prevae and immediate cause was shock caused by severity of labor. For a time it seemed as though she would recover but her heart failed her entirely three hours after the birth of the child.

Minnie F. Corkins, 31 years of age, was born in Rawsonville, Wayne County, Michigan, August 19, 1879. She was married to John C. Corkins at Brookville, Pa., Oct. 14, 1903 and came to Cass City to reside about seven years ago, where Mr. Corkins is a member of the law firm of Brooker & Corkins. Her maiden name was Miss Minnie Fell.

Mrs. Corkins was a member of the M.E. church at Cass City and a woman of beautiful character, enobled by a Christian experience. Her life was one worthy of emulation by every person who knew her, and she will be missed in the church which she attended and also in the neighborhood where she resided, for she was best known for her kindly deeds and high standard of living.

She leaves three little children: Helen and Ivan, 6 years old, and Lucile, 5 years; also the following relatives: Mr. and Mrs. William Fell, her parents, of Detroit; and the following brothers and sisters: Leonard and Don Fell of Detroit; Robert Fell of Pontiac; Wm. Fell, Jr. of Chicago; Miss Alice Fell and Mrs. James Hope of Detroit.

Funeral services were held at the M.E. church Wednesday afternoon, during which every business place in the village was closed. A large number of friends gathered to pay their respects to the deceased. Rev. W.B. Weaver, the pastor, had charge of the services. The casket was entirely hidden beneath beautiful flowers in mute testimony of the respect and sympathy extended by the friends of the family. The pall bearers were: F.A. Bigelow, L.I. Wood, A.H. Higgins, T.L. Tibbals, E.W. Keating, and C.L. Robinson.

The burial took place in Elkland Cemetery.

Carolyn Jane "Janie" Felts Edmiston, 60, of Flint moved from life on this earth to the joy of Heaven on Wednesday, July 21, 2004. Janie was born March 17, 1944 in Hemphill to E.C. "Buddy" and Dorothy Felts. She was the second of five children. She graduated from Hemphill High School where she was a majorette. She married the love of her life, Jim Edmiston, on Sept. 1, 1973. Together they moved to Flint in 1977 to continue to raise their blended family.

Janie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister.....exceptional quilter...gardener....diehard football fan...fisherwoman...Sunday School teacher for many years.....

She was a spitfire with a zest for life that could not be squelched and fought pancreatic cancer with all her faith and will and might.

Preceded in death by her father, E. C. "Buddy" Felts and a son, Tony Edmiston. Survivors, Jim Edmiston, sons Jimmy STRICKLAND, Jr., his wife Bobbie and children Justin and Robin DUCK; Marc Edmiston and children, Michael, Dustin, Alan, Brian and Blake; and a daughter, Anna BEAUDIN and children Justin and Samantha. Also....her mother, Dorothy Jean (Maund) Felts of Hemphill; and siblings, Ronnie Felts and wife Ona Lee of Hemphill; Larry Felts and wife Francis of Lufkin, Vickie Felts of Hemphill, and Dascom "Dave" Felts and wife Connie of Hemphill.

Shay Delon Davis Felts, 96, died Saturday morning in the Hemphill Care Center. He was born in Sabinetown, TX, to Walter Elbert and Caroline Gooch Felts. Shay worked for Gulf Oil as a machinist for over 35 years. After retirement he moved back to Hemphill from Port Arthur. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Hemphill Post VFW, and the First United Methodist Church in Hemphill. Mr. Felts is survived by his step-daughter Patsy Reed of Sonoma, AZ, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wives, Thelma Juanita Duddie Felts and Rebecca Evelyn Felts; two brothers, E.C. Buddy Felts and Benton Peanut Felts; his sisters Eula Wood and Lola Smith. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, January 30, 2012, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, TX. Services for Earnest C. "Buddy" Felts, 88, of Hemphill were held at 10 am Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at the Starr Funeral Home chapel in Hemphill with Pastor Sherry Z. Crenshaw and Pastor Fred Raney officiating. Interment followed at Hemphill City Cemetery.

Felts was born June 8, 1913 in Sabine County and died at 2 am Sunday March 24, 2002 in Hemphill.

He was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and a member of the Free Methodist Church. He was a retired truck drive for J.O. Toole.

Survivors: wife, Dorothy Felts of Hemphill; sons and daughters-in-law , Ronnie and Ona Felts of Hemphill, Larry and Frances Felts of Lufkin, and Davis and Connie Felts of Hemphill; daughters and son-in-law, Janie* and Jimmy Emiston of Tyler and Vickie Felts** of Hemphill; a brother, Davis D. Funeral services for Eula Mae Wood, 95, of Hemphill were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2007 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Harper's Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Ricky Wood officiated and Gregg Wood did the Eulogy. She died at 3:15 a.m. at the Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill. Eula Mae Wood was born in Sabinetown on June 22, 1011 to Walter FELTS and Lina GOOCH Felts. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hemphill.

She is survived by her sons, Vilas "Boog" WOOD and wife, Linda of San Augustine and Mike WOOD and wife, Sue Ann of Hemphill; daughter, Lexie Mae McCARTER of Tyler; brother, Shay FELTS of Hemphill; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill was in charge of arrangements.

Lola B. Smith, 76, of Geneva died Monday, April 22, 1996, at Nacogdoches Medical Center Hospital in Nacogdoches.

Born March 26, 1920 in Sabinetown as a daughter of the late Walter and Lana (Gooch) Felts, she was a longtime resident of Geneva and a member of Geneva United Methodist Church. Mrs. Smith was a retired teacher with the Geneva and Sexton schools.

Survivors: husband, Carl Smith of Geneva; two daughters, Karen Fountain of Fred and Cathy Durrett of Lubbock; a son, Jay Smith of Chireno; a sister Eula Wood of Hemphill; two brothers, Shay Felts and Buddy Felts, both of Hemphill; and six grandchidlren, Leigh Ann Fountain, Ryan Durrett, Adam Smith, Eric Smith, Kara Fountain, and Mandy Durrett.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Aldous Smith and Bro. W. Clarence Howell officiating. Interment was in Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Geneva.

Ocie Felts Gomer

Ocie Felts Gomer was born Jan. 21, 1905, at Sabinetown, Sabine County. She died on Nov. 27, 2005, at San Augustine. Ocie was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson FELTS and Mattie Bell BURKETT FELTS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley S. GOMER Sr.; her daughter, Helen Gomer SCHLUTER; her parents; and 11 brothers and sisters. Ocie is survived by her two sons, Edgar R. "Bill" GOMER and wife Mae of Salt Lake City, Utah and Stanley S. GOMER Jr. and wife Wanda of Burleson, nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews in Sabine County and elsewhere. Stanley and Ocie were married Dec. 23, 1922, at Hemphill and went to California by train where Stanley was employed by a nursery and Ocie was employed as a cook for the work crew. Later Stanley found employment with the U.S. Post Office in Los Angeles and transferred to Ft. Worth in 1925. They made the trip from California in a Model T Ford, camping out each night with infant daughter, Helen. The trip took three weeks. They lived in Fort Worth until retirement and in 1962 moved back to Sabine County to live on Toledo Bend Lake. Stanley died in 1986 and Ocie continued to live by the lake until she suffered a heart attack and she then moved to Hemphill Care Center and from there to Trinity Rehab and Retirement Community in San Augustine. Ocie was a loving mother and grandmother. She was very independent and self-sufficient, a good fisherman, and a really good cook. She will be missed. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill. Interment followed at Hemphill City Cemetery. Rebecca "Becky" Lynn Felts, 47, died at her home Saturday, Ma 28, 2011 after an illness.

She was born in Port Arthur, to Ronnie and Ona Counts Felts. She had lived her life in Hemphill where she worked as a bookkeeper in the medical field. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hemphill.

She is survived by her parents, Ronnie and Ona Felts of Hemphill; daughter, Amber Fowler Smith of Hemphill; son, Kenneth Lee Fowler, III of Milam; brother, Richard Felts of Hemphill; and sister, Angela Wood of Hemphill. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kane, Carmen, Justis and Brayden.

Sarah Elizabeth Felts was born in Conroe on May 4, 1989 to Richard Dean Felts and Andrea Gregory Felts. She was a Senior at Hemphill High School, was a trumpet player and vice-president of Hemphill School Band and was a member of Camp Springs Baptist Church in Hemphill.

She is survived by her parents, Richard and Andrea FELTS of Hemphill; maternal grandparents, Johnny Patrick GREGORY and Norma Dell GREGORY of Conroe; paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Ona Lee FELTS of Hemphill; paternal great-grandmother, Dorothy FELTS of Hemphill, and brother, Bradford David FELTS of Hemphill. Married in 1961 to John Wright Moore III, she was a beloved English teacher in HISD schools for 37 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents and son, JW Moore IV. She is survived by daughters, Juliette Elizabeth Lofft and Melissa Josephine "Jodi" Moore (Aaron Howell); grandchildren, Frank Eric Cimrhanzel, Aidan Christopher Lofft, Liam Andrew Lofft and Tamsin Elizabeth Moore Howell; brother, James Emmett Fenley; sister, Sally Petrash; extended family and numerous friends.

A memorial service will be held for Jeanette at 11am, Monday, June 3, 2013 at All Saints Catholic Church in Houston. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a memorial gift in Jeanette's honor to the National Kidney Foundation .

Addie was born in Louisiana in 1851 but had moved to Texas with her family by 1854-1856.

In 1873 she married John Philip Walker, son of Philip and Sarah Elizabeth Walker. They were married in Guadalupe County, but soon moved to Luling (1874) so that John P could join his brother James K. Walker in establishing the Walker Brothers mercantile enterprise. Addie and John Philip had two sons before she died at age 28.

From Luling Signal, Jan 1, 1880, Vol II #51: "We regret the death of Mrs. J.P. Walker, which occurred at her home in this city last Tuesday evening." This would put her death date as Dec. 1879.

After Addie's death, John Philip and the two boys lived with the Fenner family in Luling, Texas. In 1881, John Philip Walker married Josephine C. Fenner, Addie's sister. John Philip and Josephine C. Walker had four children. They named one of their daughters after Addie. John Philip and Josephine C. are buried in Luling City Cemetery.

Addie is buried near her uncle, Patrick Henry Walker, in Prairie Lea Public Cemetery. In the 1968 inventory of the cemetery there were four unmarked graves (listed as board markers) on one side of Addie and one unmarked grave on her other side. The markers are no longer visible.

Wynema McGrew noted that "Fenner Road, beginning at Ouachita River, was blazed by John (a wealthy planter) in the early 1840s prior to his marriage to Alzeda. After loosing several family members to Yellow Fever, he used slaves to cut the road near Okaloosa, where he built a summer house." (McGrew, THE JAMES McGREW FAMILY, p. 335).

His FindAGrave memorial page states that he was a "Son of William Fenner and Mercy Ogden. Husband of Katherine Elliot and Alzedda McGrew. Father of James, William, Isreal, Benjamin, Sherrod, Mercy, Eliza, John Franklin, Jasper, Sarah, Giles, Alzetta, John, Christopher, Josephine, Elizabeth, and Letty. Josephine C. Walker was born in Prairie Lea, Guadalupe County, Texas a few years after her family settled there from Ouachita, Louisiana. The family settled on a farm near the Philip Walker farm.

Josephine's sister, Addie, died in 1879. Addie's husband, John P. Walker and their three young boys came to live with the Fenner family in Luling, Texas.

Josephine married John P. in 1881. They had four children and lived in Luling. 		 STR06

She is survived by her son, Martin Nemec and wife, Gina, of San Antonio; daughter, Teresa Nemec of Hemphill; brother, Nolan Ferguson of Hemphill; grandchildren, Garrett Wike, Natalie Smith, and Travis Nemec; and five great grandchildren.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard Nemec; brothers, Deas Ferguson and Dillon Ferguson; and sister-in-law, Frances Ferguson.

Graveside services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2020 at Harper's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Dillon Ray Ferguson and Chris Moody officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. before services at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are Mike Starkey, Shelly Schultz, Garrett Wike, Travis Nemec, Tommy Ferguson, and Ray Sepulvado.

She is survived by her companion, Charles Payne of Hemphill; daughter, Kimberly Lynn Bragg of Hemphill; sister, Angela Kay McElroy of Madisonville; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C. T. and Shirley Ferguson and son, Dustin Randall Ferguson.

Graveside services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2022 in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Todd Parrish officiating.

Danny was born March 20, 1954, to parents I.W. and Gayle (Thomas) Ferguson. He was a longtime resident of Sabine County and retired from the construction industry. He attended Hemphill High School and was a member of Yellowpine-Macedonia Baptist Church.

Through his career, Danny worked not only across the United States but in many foreign countries as well. He was a hard worker and took pride in providing for his family. No matter what state or country he was working, Danny always took time to call his children every day to check on and encourage them. He was always happy riding his Harley Davidson.

His survivors include his wife, George Ann Ferguson of Pineland; his mother, Gayle Ferguson of Hemphill; daughters, Danielle Wilkerson and husband Trey of Pineland, Michelle Dixson and husband Johnathan of Newton, and Rachel Ferguson of Pineland; step-daughter, Keri An Faught of Lufkin; step-son, Jeffrey Ryan Kinsel of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, I.V. Wilkerson, Adrian Wilkerson, Stephen Thomas, Chris Thomas, Brett Faught, and Chevy Faught; a great-granddaughter, Annabelle Grace Thomas; sisters, Debra Kay Ferguson of Jasper and Kimberly Wieblehouse and husband Randy of Denton; along with Eleazar Carranza and wife Annette of Hemphill.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bro. I.W. Ferguson.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at Yellowpine-Macedonia Baptist Church in Sabine County with Bro. T.A. Lane and Bro. John W. Hailey officiating. Interment followed at Pine Hill Cemetery, located on FM 2024.

Pallbearers: Ronnie Stephens, Joe Flannigan, Bubba Hoya, Amos Moore, Trey Wilkerson, and Johnathan Dixson

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Tuesday at Farmer Funeral Home. Mr. Ferguson was born November 21, 1932 in Hemphill and went home to be with his Savior March 9, 2013 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Dillon worked for Temple Inland in Pineland and went to work for Temple Inland in Evadale in 1962. He retired in December, 1995. Mr. Ferguson was a faithful member of Calvary Apostolic Church in Evadale. He was a US Army veteran, serving in Europe from October 1954 until October 1957. Mr. Ferguson is preceded in death by his father William 'Bill' Augusta Ferguson, mother Ollie Burleson Ferguson and brother Deas Ferguson. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Betty Inez Jones Ferguson; daughter Betty Jane Immel and husband Jimmie of Silsbee; son Dillon Ray Ferguson and wife Pam of Evadale and daughter Debbie Hall of Evadale. He is also survived by brother Nolan Ferguson and wife Frances of Hemphill; sister Carolyn Nemec and husband Leonard of Houston and sister-in-law Maxine Ferguson of Beaumont; eleven grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, whom he loved.
