Might this be her death certificate, as the name, age and location are correct...however her maiden name and current marital status seem to differ. Other records at Family Search.org seems to indicate that this Nannie McLemore was married to Lonzo or Richard E. McLemore, and the mother of Richard Elman McLemore and Henry Brandon McLemore, so the listing below is unlikely to be that of the wife of Henry Willis McLemore.

It is not known with certainty that this is the same Clara STAMPER. It is very possible, as she was no longer living with her father at the time of the 1930 census. 21715 I11496  Stamper  William Clint "Clint"  2 Oct 1884  28 Nov 1978  From Krol Stamper Chapas to Lynell Gentry Cordell, 2002--

"Campbell William Stamper had two wives. With the first one he had 6 children (including W.C.'s father Hiram) and with the second one he had 16 children. The halves all knew each other, even to the 2nd generation. W.C. Sr. was named for one of his father's (Hiram's) halves, William Campbell.

His story was that he and his brother were living together and neither one could cook, so they decided that one of them had to get married. They drew straws and Pa was the one who had to do it. Then he met Granny (a natural blonde) and never got over it. Fortunately she agreed to marry him, and life was good after that."

Marriage records indicated that Clint and Marie Audrey were married in Arkansas in 1907. They must have moved to Texas shortly thereafter, as their oldest daughter, Mary Mabel "Jackie" Stamper was born in 1908 in Montague. By 1913, they had moved to Wheeler county, where son Orville Bush Stamper was born. Shortly thereafter, they must have moved again, this time to the Vineyard Community of Jack County, Texas. As can be seen on the transcription of a Historical Marker found by one of the old wells, shown below, Hiram and his sons petioned for the 1915 name change of Vinyard to Wizard Wells, Texas. Youngest son William Clinton Stamper, Jr was born in Wizard Wells in March, 1916.

Wizard Wells - Texas Historical Marker

The Kiowa Indians first visited this location and used the mineral waters for medicinal purposes. George Washington Vineyard settled here in the 1870s taking up a claim originally established by David Rowland. ... In 1898 the Rock Island Railroad bypassed Vineyard and Sebree Community was started (2 mi. S). Visitors arriving by train took a hack to the resort. H.F. Stamper and his sons, Clint and H.F., Jr. petitioned the legislature in 1915 and the name of Vineyard became Wizard Well. Sebree was changed to Vineyard.

From the website http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~drycreek/wizard_wells.htm

The following World War I draft registration card, provided by Lynell Cordell, shows that W.C. Stamper was the a Manager of the Mineral Water Health Resort in Wizard Wells.

In her note to Lynell, Krol continued "I guess my Uncle Jeff (g-uncle) lived near them for quite awhile, married a lady named Alice (have her maiden name in my notes) and all lived near each other (along with Uncle Dick and Aunt's Jessie and Clara) until Pa and Granny decided to go back to school and become college professors. That was when they moved to Lawton.

They (W.C. and Marie), were either getting ready to teach at Cameron or were already teaching there (in 1933 when Mary Bush died), so they probably planned to stay. However, Pa (W.C.) took a job with the Agricultural Dept. and they lived in Paul's Valley and lived there for many, many years before he retired again and they moved to Ardmore." --

21759 I24598  Stedham  Elvira "Viola" Elizabeth  22 May 1873  26 May 1956  Melba Gene McLemore has her as married three times: (1) Wilbert H. KENYON (a/k/a W. H. GARLAND) on 28 Oct 1886 in El Paso (in a double wedding with her brother, George Keton Stedham at the county jail); (2) F. S. HANSON on 28 Nov 1887 in Ulvalde, and finally (3) Elmer Harley MAUK on 17 Jan 1916. As her name on the marriage certificate to Elmer Mauk was Viola Rucker, it appears she may have had another marriage between the one to F. S. Hanson and Elmer Mauk.

Elvira's mother had to sign a consent for Elvira to marry Wilbert Kenyon. Lucretia stated that Wilbert Kenyon was 26 and Elvira was age 16...although it appears she was actually only 13....and that there was no legal objection to the Marriage of said Kenyon and Miss Elvira Stedham.

Melba Gene McLemore provided the following obituary, which she in turn received from a Stedham researcher (nora31@aol.com).

Mrs. Elvira Mauk

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Elvira Elizabeth Mauk, 83, of 2010 Magnolia Ave., who died in a local hospital Saturday, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Cemetery with Bishop H.E. Turley officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Martin Mortuary.

Goldie Marie (Steinacher) Matejka, 82 years of age of Crete, passed away on January 10, 2012 at Tabitha Care Center of Crete, NE. Goldie was born March 5, 1929 to Tillie (Soukup) and Valentine Steinacher. Goldie was the eldest of four children. She attended school at Milligan.

On July 7th, 1949 she married William "Bill" Matejka. Three children were born to this union, Leonard, Don and Lori. The family lived in the Geneva/Milligan area until settling in Dorchester in 1967 until moving to Crete in 1997.

Goldie loved to cook and bake. Her specialty was kolaches and dinner rolls. She shared with her family that she made 30 dozen kolaches in one day and she thought she would never get done making those on that day. She had the talent and training to extend a helping hand to others as she volunteered with the Blue Valley organization for many years. She enjoyed playing Bingo and attending auctions with Bill. They would travel to all the local area farmers markets and sell their produce from their garden. She had such a collection of recipes that she published her own cookbook. She was proud of her accomplishments and loved sharing stories with others. On several occasions Goldie would teach words and phrases to her family in Czech to keep her ability to speak and understand her language of national heritage. Goldie would open her home to anybody who needed a place to get a bite of food or need someone to visit with. She always had company at her apartment at Centennial Terrace when family would stop for a visit. Holidays were important for Goldie. She would prepare, cook and bake for more people than were invited. This way everyone would go home with a goodie bag.

She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter in infancy, her parents, brother Emil Steinacher and brother and sister-in-law Milo and Linda Steinacher.

Goldie is survived by her sons; Leonard and wife, Jane of Loomis, Don and wife Terri of Crete. Five grandchildren; Jennifer Henshaw of Ashburn, VA, Stephanie Matejka of Lincoln, Matthew Matejka of Lincoln, A.J. and Aden Matejka of Loomis. One great-granddaughter Chloe Matejka of Lincoln, sister, Rose Mae Pomajzl and husband Roy of Wilber, Sister-in-Law Shirley Steinacher of Geneva and many nieces and nephews.
