Binkelman Store, W.R. and Sons, Marion, Wisconsin, after 1890

William Richard Clancey Binkelman's hardware store, the largest and most prosperous store in the village of Marion, Wisc. as of 1895. W.R.'s mother, Jane McCormick, was a young widow with two small children when she married her second husband, Leonard Benkelman, a German immigrant. Her children took on his last name, however they used the spelling of Binkelman.
