  Notes	Marie Ella Crochet McLemore passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge, on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at the age of 89. A resident and native of Morganza, she was born in Labarre on Aug. 18, 1919, to Marie Ludivine LeBlanc and Joseph Oneil Crochet. On Sept. 11, 1939, she married the love of her life, Carl Eugene McLemore in Morganza. Married for 69 years, they raised four children together making sure they all received college educations. For many years they traveled and lived wherever Carl's work took them, but always returned to Morganza. Ms. Ella was an avid gardener whose flowers were admired by many. She was also a wonderful cook who created award-winning divinity candy, having taught numerous people in the village of Morganza her secret in making this candy. As an amateur genealogist, she traced the lineage of her family as well as many of the Morganza families to the early 1700s. A member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Morganza and a devout Catholic, Ms. Ella relied on her faith to survive breast and thyroid cancer at two different times of her life. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Isabella and St. Ann's Altar Society. Survived by her husband, Carl Eugene McLemore Sr.; two daughters, Margaret and her husband, John LeCoq Sr., of Mobile, Ala., and Beth and her husband, Murry Watson, of Baton Rouge; and two sons, Dr. Carl and his wife, Karen, of New Roads, and John and his wife, Kristy, of Eunice. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Lynne Cooper and husband Curt, of Houston, Dr. Susan LeCoq, of Anniston, Ala., John LeCoq Jr. and wife JoAnn, of Mobile, Andrew McLemore and wife Carrie, of Prairieville, Dr. Aaron McLemore and wife Dr. Elizabeth McLemore, of Richmond, Va., Bobby McLemore, of New Roads, Meagan, Kate and William McLemore, all of Eunice; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived two brothers, Allen and his wife Barbara Crochet, of Baton Rouge, and Clarence Crochet, of Prairieville. Preceded in death by her parents, Oneil and Ludivine Crochet; two brothers, Lawrence "B" Crochet and his wife, Luda, and Eddie Crochet; two sisters, Mae and husband Asa Sackett, and Doris and husband John Oubre; and sister-in-law, Beth Crochet (wife of Clarence Crochet). Visitation at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Morganza, on Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 11 a.m. until service at noon. Memorial donations may be made to Pointe Coupee Home Health, 350 Hospital Road, New Roads, LA 70760.
