    Bro. Lonnie B. Harley

    Bro. Lonnie B. Harley, 65, of Pineland died at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 1995, at his residence on FM 2024.

    Bro. Harley was born Oct. 8, 1929, and had been a lifelong resident of Sabine County. He was a minister, serving as pastor of Strickland Chapel Church of God on FM 2024, and was self employed owning Lonnie B. Harley Logging Contractors.

    Survivors: wife, Willie Dean (Bragg) Harley of Pineland; a daughter, Mrs. Dallas (Kay) Welch of Pineland; sons, Lonnie Ray Harley and Randy Harley, both of Pineland, and Tommy Harley of Bronson; mother, Minnie Harley of Pineland; a sister, Elizabeth Fore of Pineland; a brother, Leonard D. Harley of Hemphill; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his father, William A. Harley.

    Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Friday at the Strickland Chapel Church of God with Bro. Tommy Long, Bro. Vance R. Purtell, and Bro. Glenn Morton officiating. Interment followed at the Plainview Cemetery. Services were handled by Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill.

    Pallbearers: Arvin Easley, Millard Smith, Bobby McClelland, Gary Fore, George Welch and Barry Easley.

    Obituaries

    Leonard D. Harley

    Leonard D. Harley, 51, of Hemphill died at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1996, at his residence on Texas 184.

    Harley, a retired diesel mechanic, was a lifelong area resident. He was born July 19, 1944, in Sabine County as a son of Minnie McClelland Harley and the late William Alvin Harley.

    Survivors: wife, Bonnie Lee Harley of Hemphill, mother Minnie Harley of Pineland; a daughter, Renee PARISH of Pineland; three sons, Stanley Harvey of Angleton, and Kelvin Harley and Brent Harley, both of Pineland; a sister, Elizabeth FORE of Pineland; and seven grandchildren.

    Funeral services were hald at 11 a.m. Friday at Strickland Chapel Church of God in Sabine County with Bro. Vance R. Purtell and Bro. Tommy Long officiating. Interment was at Lott Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill.

    Shirley Ann Welch

    Shirley Ann Welch, 45, of Pineland died at 7 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 1998, following an extended illness.

    She was born Sept. 22, 1952, and had been a lifelong resident of Sabine County. Mrs. Welch was a member of the Strickland Chapel Church of God and a home health aide.

    Survivors: her parents, John D. and Elizabeth FORE of Pineland, two sons, Jeff COULTER and Wesley WELCH, both of Pineland; two step sons, Kirk COULTER and Mark COULTER, both of Grapevine community; a sister, Katherine WELCH of Pineland, a brother Gary FORE of Pineland, and two grandchildren, Cameron COULTER of Pineland and Cory FARR of Conroe.

    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Strickland Chapel Church of God on FM 2024 near Pineland with Bro. Tommy Long and Bro. Vance R. Purtell officiating. Interment followed at Lott Cemetery near Pineland.

    Arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home Inc. of Hemphill.
