Mrs. Mary Lou Blackwell

14 May 1954 - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lou Blackwell, 77, who passed away May 6 in Zwolle were conducted 3:00 p.m. May 7 at Zwolle Methodist Church. Interment was in Fenders cemetery under direction of Warren Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were grandsons of Mrs. Blackwell.

Surviving relatives include: sons, Walter L. of Deridder, Willie. O. E. and Jim of Many; daughters, Mrs. Audie McComic and Mrs. Pearl McComic of Zwolle, Mrs Vivian Hardin, Mrs. Cardie Taylor and Mrs. Ida Stevens of Shreveport: brothers, Pate Alford of Many; sister Mrs Bessie Kilburn of Pineland, Texas; and 31 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Blackwell is survived by three sons, Bert Blackwell, Sulphur; Kenneth Blackwell, Lake Charles; Floyd Blackwell, Ferguson,Missouri; five daughters, Mrs. Claude Keith Moreland, Kansas; Mrs. S. W. Nichols, Many; Mrs. Wayne Polk, Little Rock, Ark.; Mrs. Glen Cook, Leesville; Mrs. Rodney Walker, Shreveport; two brothers, Walter Blackwell, DeRidder; Buck Blackwell, Many; four sisters, Mrs. John McCormick, Many; Mrs. Ed McCormick, Zwolle; Mrs. B. L. Hardin, and Mrs. John Taylor, both of Shreveport; 19
grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 7, at the Calvary Baptist Church, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Wayne Reeves officiating. Burial was in the Fenders Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Joe Luster, Reo Wright, Gerald Malley, Hoyt Hughes, Buddy Dees, Lynn Dean, Greg Booker, and Bobbye Webb. Honorary pallbearers were Bud Wright, George Cook, Bill Leslie, and Lee Jordon.

Mrs. Audry Bell McComic, 83, died at Heritage Manor #1, on Oct. 21, 1987.

Services were held at Memorial Baptist Church, on Oct. 23, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Ben Isgitt, and Rev. Houston Tibbits officiating. Burial was at Zwolle Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

Survivors were two daughters, Atarie Samaha of Baton Rouge, Dorothy Byles of Many; one brother, O. E. Blackwell of Many; one sister, Vivian Hardin of Shreveport; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Audrey married John N. McComic before 1926 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana. John (son of William Riley McComick and Mollie Craig) was born in Feb 1890 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana; died on 26 Aug 1973; was buried in Zwolle City Cemetery, Zwolle, Sabine Parish, Louisiana. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

O. E. "Buck" Blackwell, 93 of Many, Louisiana died on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Sabine Medical Center in Many, Louisiana.

He was born Friday, December 8, 1916 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana.

He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Strout and husband Terry of Nashua, NH and Shirley Zaborowski and husband Phil of Hephzibah, GA.; granddaughter, Wendy Huchins and husband H. Rob of Nashua, NH; great-grandaughter, Chelsea Huchins and great-grandson, Jackson Huchins both of Nashua, NH; along with a host of step-daughters, step-sons, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 29, 2010 at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Allen and Rev. Kenneth Leach, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery.
