Amanda married William Washington Allen about 1858 in Sabine County, Texas. William (son of Thompson Allen and Elizabeth Wooldridge) was born on 12 Sep 1839 in Noxubee County, Mississippi; died on 9 Jun 1914 in Lampasas County, Texas; was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lampasas County, Texas. His younger half-sister, Kate Allen Tirado, writes that he died of complications of pneumonia, compounded by his doctors accidentially poisoning him. She wrote "he was a beautiful young man and so good and true, he died singing "Jesus Lover of My Soul, Let Me to Thy Bosom Fly." Before dying, he regained consciousnes and told his father and loved ones to meet him in Heavan.

Could she be the mother of Frankie Sims? In her biography of the William Washington Allen family, Katherine Allen Tirado, a younger half sister of Abbie Tabitha Allen, writes that "Little Frankie Sims died March 12, 1884 age 4 years old. He was a little curly head darling, the most precious little boy. Nephew of Frank D. Allen." Abbie would have been old enough to have a son born in 1880, none of her younger half sisters would have been. Also, Frank and Abbie were the only two known children born to William Washington Allen and his first wife, Amanda Halbert.
