Could he have had a namesake son or grandson? The January 16, 2013 issue of THE SABINE COUNTY REPORTER included a page 1 article about the new postmaster in Hemphill, Oliver Boyette of San Augustine. He was first employed by the US Postal Service in 1987, being stationed at San Augustine through 2001, then serving as postmaster of Wooden, Brookeland and as interim postmaster in Hemphill. He lives in San Augustine with his wife of 29 years, Nancy, and they have two sons, one of whom also works for the postal service. The Texas Birth index shows that Oliver Theo Boyette and Lucine Hays were the parents of Oliver Theo Boyette, Jr. born 30 mar 1952 in San Augustine.

Funeral for C.L. Boyett, 91, of San Augustine, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, San Augustine, with the Rev. Rick Russell officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Hill Memorial Garden.

Boyett died Sept. 25, 2004, in San Augustine.

Born Jan. 22, 1913, in Sabine County, he was the son of Columbus Simon Boyett and Emma Curl. He was retired as a lineman for Deep East Texas Electric Co-Op, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church in San Augustine. He had served on the San Augustine City Council, was a member of the Redland Masonic Lodge No. 3 and a past fire chief for San Augustine Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife, Lucette Neal Boyett of San Augustine; son, Charles Boyett of San Augustine; stepsons, Billy Neal of Nederland and George Neal of Newton; brother, Paul D. Boyett of Almagorda, N.M.; three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.

Obituary

Linda Sue Sanderson went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, August 14, 2010. Linda was born in Hemphill Texas on December 10, 1944 to Willie E. Miller and Verda Curl Miller. She worked as a clerk in the Beaumont District Attorney's office until her retirement. She was a member of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Pittsburg, Texas, where she currently resided on beautiful Lake Bob Sandlin. Linda is survived by her two children and spouses, Amy & Lee Guseman, & Justin Gary & Sonia Sanderson, Grandchildren; Emily Wilkins, James Sanderson, John Sanderson, William Guseman, and Elizabeth Guseman. Brother & Sister-in-law James E. & Marlis Miller, Sister & Brother-in-law, Frances and Ronnie Minaldi, Billie Platt & Joe Reeves, Sister, Sheila Shettle. A memorial service for Linda will be at 6:30 PM, Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Broussard's Mortuary Chapel in Nederland Texas. Dr. Richardson will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the services at 5:30 - 6:30 PM. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial be made to Cypress Basin Hospice, P.O.Box 544, Mount Pleasant, Texas 75455 or to Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, P.O.
