Funeral services for Mrs. Olivia Pratt Hubley, 72, of Hemphill, who died Thursday at 7:15 a.m. in her home after a long illness, was held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. She was a native of Alabama, moving to Sabine county with her parents in 1890. She and her husband returned to Hemphill about three months ago from Jacksonville, Texas, where they had resided for several years. The Rev. Clarence Howell, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hemphill, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Lovis Dunn, pastor of the East Mayfield Baptist Church of Hemphill, and the Rev. Louis W. Pratt, of Garland. Burial was under the direction of Starr Funeral Home of Hemphill. Survivors include her husband, L. F. Hubley of Hemphill; one daughter, Mrs. Jeannie Barnes of Pasadena, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Edward Harper, Mrs. W. E. Coussons and Mrs. Giles Smith, all of Hemphill; three brothers, Horace Pratt, Lewis Pratt and Henry Pratt, all of Hemphill, and one grandchild. Out-of-town people who attended the funeral for Mrs. Olivia Pratt Hubley held Friday were: Sam Jones, Virgie Wood and Mr. and Mrs. Tell Simpson, all of Jacksonville; Mr. and Mrs. Arch Redding of Garrison, Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Hubley and Mrs. H. W. OZRO LEE PRATT

Ozro Lee Pratt, 90, of Geneva died at 7 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at Memorial Medical Center in San Augustine. He was born December 29, 1912, in Sabine County as a son of the late Mary Elizabeth (Cooper) and Hampton Lee Pratt and was a lifelong resident of Sabine County. Pratt was a retired truck driver for Holly Farms and a member of Geneva Baptist Church. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and J.C. CLICK of Geneva and Gloria and Robert McELROY of Elkhart; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Francis Pratt, who died November 23, 2003. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2003 at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home, Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Eddis SMITH and Bro. Buddy PRATT officiating. Interment followed at Rosevine Cemetery.

A nearly identical obituary was published in the December 10, 2003 Sabine County Reporter. The only added fact was that Orzo and Francis also had four great-great grandchildren.

Port Neches-Funeral services for Woodrow Pratt Sr., (age illegible) of 918 Wegner Str, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Central Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in Spring Hill Cemetery in Hemphill. Weldon David Funeral Home in Nederland is in charge of arrangements.

Pratt died in his home at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday after a long illness.

"Buddy" George T. Pratt

"Buddy" George T. Pratt, 73, of Port Neches died Friday, April 4, 2008 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.

Buddy was born September 4, 1934 in Hemphill to Henry Pratt and Bertie Tatom Pratt. He was a 50 year resident of Port Neches and retired from B.F. Goodrich/Ameripol Synpol as a Quality Assurance Supervisor. He was a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church, Port Neches V.F.W. Post #4820, and a U.S. Army veteran.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with Rev. Dustin Guidry officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.

He his survived by his wife, Henrijo F. Pratt of Port Neches, daughter, Becky Schmidt and husband, Mike of Crystal Beach, sons, Todd Gentry and wife, Cossette of Port Arthur, Gregory Pratt and wife, Kelli of Lumberton; Arthur Gentry and wife, Maryanne of Nederland, Ron Pratt and wife, Becky of Cottage Grove, MN, Chris Gentry of Groves, Mark Genty and wife, Kim of Montgomery, sister, Yvonne Grant of Lexington, MA., brother, Robert Frederick of Nacogdoches, 17 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.

Obituary

Peggy Ann Coussons Duke, 85, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021 at her residence.

Peggy was born July 11, 1936 in Hemphill to Ersel and Novie Ada Pratt Coussons. She was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and a graduate of the Hemphill High School Class of 1954. She worked as a nurse's assistant for many years and was active in the First Baptist Church, including vacation bible school. She loved to work with the elderly. Peggy had a green thumb and was best known for the ferns on her front porch and she believed in the phrase "Gift of Hospitality, unconditional love and nurturing".

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Duke and daughter, Myra Duke Clindaniel.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Duke Cobia of Austin and Megan Russek and husband, Eric, of League City; sister-in-law, Lorraine Coussons of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Cara Westbrook, Jacie Cobia, Ricky Cobia and wife, Courtney, Madalyn Russek, Josh Russek and Hannah Russek; and great grandchild, Alex Freeman.

Graveside services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 in Hemphill Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

Mr. Pratt was retired from the U.S. Air Force having served during the Vietnam War. He loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Holl and husband, Mark, of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Gale Harrington and husband, Will, of Rapid City, South Dakota; a son, James A. Pratt III of Palestine, Texas; granddaughters, Allison Holl, Michelle Holl, Jennifer Holl and Christine Harrington; and a grandson, Steven Harrington.
