He possessed a sixth sense when it came to business. Charlie set a multitude of records, received countless awards and accolades in the automobile business.

Maund enjoyed his life, loved people and treasured his sisters, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Charlie was a licensed jet pilot, an accomplished sportsman who loved to fish and hunt. He was a Texas rancher and cattleman who loved spending time at ranches with friends and family. University of Texas football was a passion; Charlie and Coach Royal were good friends for many years as were many of the UT athletic department staff during Coach Royal's tenure.

His wife and best friend, Helen Lang Maund, to whom he was wed for 47 years, preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by brothers Harry Maund and Belmont Maund and sisters Thelma FELTS and Wilhemina CROWELL.
