L. C. Cartwright Dies In Beaumont

L. C. Cartwright died at 11:45 Monday night at his home at Beaumont, Texas. Mrs. Cartwright will be remembered in Winnfield as Maggie Mae Murphy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pat Murphy. The deceased is survived by his wife and daughter, Patsy Ruth, of Beaumont, his parents, three sisters and one brother of Hemphill, Texas.
Mrs. Herbert Willis, Mrs. J. W. Massie, Mrs. J. B. Hughes, and Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Madden of Winnfield were called to Beaumont by the sudden death of Mr. Cartwright.

Ruby Cartwright Chapman
Sunset MP, Nacogdoches

Funeral services for Ruby Cartwright Chapman, 97, of Nacogdoches, will be held Monday, February 20, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with the Rev. Billy McCall, Baptist Minister of Lufkin, officiating and Pastor Elias Vajerio of Memorial Baptist Church assisting. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Mrs. Chapman passed away Friday, February 17, 2006 in Nacogdoches, Texas. Ruby Cartwright Chapman was born in San Augustine County December 20, 1908, to Sanford Leon and Cora Becton Cartwright. She was a homemaker and a member of Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Chapman was preceded in death by her husband, John Manning Chapman, her parents, her sisters, Earlene Sasser and Dorothy Wood and her brothers Laura Cartwright and Vernice Cartwright.

Mrs. Chapman is survived by two sons; Devereux Chapman and wife Jean of Lufkin, Texas; Jack Chapman and wife, Faye of Lancaster, Texas; sister, Nettie Ruth King of Nacogdoches; six granddaughters, Dani Cordova and husband Scott of Houston, Texas; Debbie Rogers and husband Patrick of Austin, Texas; Barbara Baxter and husband Brian of Norris, Tennessee; Susan Chapman of Dallas, Texas; Kristen Baxter and Mindy Baxter of Norris, Texas; two great-granddaughters, Ashlee Lyons and husband Jeff of Magnolia, Texas; Stephanie Rogers of Austin, Texas; three great-grandsons, Blake Cordova of Houston, Texas; Jeremy and Derek Rogers of Austin, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews and special care giver Yolanda Henderson of Nacogdoches. A memorial service celebrating the life of Elaine Lawrence Love, was held March 23, 2002 at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Elaine Lawrence Love, our beloved mother, died peacefully at her home in Austin on March 12, 2002.

She is survived by four children: Frank Love and wife Cindy of Tonto Basin, Arizona, Kay Love Lucas and husband, Ken Lucas, Elizabeth Love Collins and husband, Ray Collin, all of Austin, Texas, and Teresa Love of Lufkin; three granddaughters, Teresa Wieldfelt and husband, John, Linda Voirin and husband Steve, and Kelly Love, all of Phoenix Arizona; two great-grandsons, Nathaniel Wieldfelt and Mathew Voirin, both of Phoenix, Arizona,; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Alexander Love, Jr. of Terrell, Texas on Feb 21, 1946 (sic).

Services for Carolyn Laurence Love, 70, of Lufkin, were held July 3, 1999 in the Chapel of The Last Supper in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with burial in the Garden of Memories Memorial park.

Mrs. Love was the daughter to the late Arlie Adell (Clark) and John Samuel Laurence. Mrs. Love was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lufkin. She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, the National Audubon Society and the American Genealogical Society. She was an acccomplished pianist, and had been a resident of Lufkin all her life. She loved music, nature, all the beauty of life and above all, God.

Survivors: husband of 55 years, William H. Love; sons, Mark Love and Ben Love; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Susan Love; daughter and son-in-law, Daphne and Bennie Latham; daughters, Jenifer Smith; Cynthia Love Freeman;"fourth son," Henry Guzman; grandchildren, Rodney Latham and wife Melissa, Cristi Nerren and husband Mark, Shellie Love, Laurence Love, Samuel Freeman, Brandon Love, Reanna Smith and Matthew Smith; great-grandchildren, Kelli Nerren and Corbin Love; sisters, Selma Garrett, Elaine L. Love; sisters-in-law, Marguerite Laurence, Dorothy Lareence; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mrs. Love was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, James Lee Laurence and J. S. Laurence, Jr.
