William married Ida L. Clapp before 1890. Ida (daughter of John C. Clapp and Mary "Mollie" Luanna Hoover) was born about 1868 in Missouri; died before 1895 in Oklahoma. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

William married Betty Ously about 1895 in Davis, Murray County, Oklahoma. Betty was born about 1887 in Mississippi; died about 1906 in Oklahoma; was buried in Marlow Cemetery, Marlow, Stephens County, Oklahoma. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

William married Beatrix Sessums in 1907. Beatrix was born on 18 Nov 1888 in Texas; died on 11 Jan 1934 in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas; was buried in Healdton, Carter County, Oklahoma. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

When he registered for the World War I draft he was a resident of Healdton, OK. He listed his place of birth as Marlow. He was employed by W. T Howard of Healdton. He was described as of Medium Heighth and build, with blue eyes and dark hair.

A William P. McClanahan, date of birth not shown, is buried at the Marlow Cemetery, Stephens County, Oklahoma. His date of death was shown as 26 Sept 1918, and he has a military marker, inscribed "OK Pvt 127 M. G. BN 34 Div." This appears to be the same William P. McClanahan, as an application was made for a Military Headstone for William Percy McClanahan, to be buried in Marlow, by W. P. McClanahan Sr of Healdton, Okla in 1931.

Notes:

When he registered for the draft during the First World War, he was lsited as Jay McClanahan and was living in Hewitt, OK, and working as a Painter. His closest relative was shown as W. P. McClananah, his father. Listed as "widowed" at the time of the 1920 census. He was living with his father and stepmother in Hewitt, Oklahoma, and working in the oil fields. His FindAGrave memorial page, created by Jean, instead lists him as Joy McClanahan, but there is not a photo of the tombstone to verify the spelling. He is shown as sharing a double marker with Kate McClanahan (1902-1998).

Notes:

Said to have died when a small boy. He was listed as a 7 year old at the time of the 1910 census. Not found on the 1920 census with his family, nor is he listed by the name Poe on the 1920 census index.

It appears that he was living with his uncle and aunt, Alvin and Katie McClanahan at the time of the 1930 Federal census, in Red Mound, Seminole County, Oklahoma. In their household is an 18 year old Jack McClanahan, born in OK, and listed as nephew.

The California Death Index has a listing for Jack A. McClanahan, born 12 Aug 1912 in Oklahoma and died 1 Mar 1965. Not know if this is the same Jack McClanahan, as his parents names are not transcribed. On the 1940 census, A Jack McClanahan, born ca 1913 on Oklahoma, can be found in Ukiah, California, married to Vevia May, age 22 and born in Oklahoma, and the father of a newborn son, Buford A. McClanahan. That Jack was shown as having lived in rural Gregg County, Texas in 1935, and Vevia in Seminole County, OK. Jack's occupation was shown as Laborer, Road Maintenance.
