Retired teacher, coach, activities director, principal, Brock and Exeter Public School, 37 years. Played semi-pro baseball, more than 20 years. Member, United Methodist Church, Exeter. Lifetime member, Nebraska School Education Association, National Education Association. Past member, Nebraska Coaches Association, Nebraska School Administrators Association.

Survivors: wife, Norene; son, George, Topeka, Kan.; daughters, sons-in-law, Cynthia and Ivan Tuxhorn, Charice Cay "C.C." Fitzgerald , all McCool Junction, Shelly and Randy Hellbusch, Friend; brother, sister-in-law, Don and Eva, Fullerton; sister-in-law, Janet Fitzgerald , Montgomery, Ala.; mother-in-law, Helen Havel, Milligan; six grandchildren; nieces; nephews; host of relatives and friends. Preceded in death by: parents; brother, Darel; sister, Patricia; aunts; uncle; father-in-law, Donald Havel.

Services: 10:30 a.m. today, United Methodist Church, Exeter. Kim Dunker officiating. Cremation following services. Visitation was Thursday, Farmer & Son Funeral Home, Exeter. Memorials in lieu of flowers care of family.
