    George Elvin Ponder Sr., of Kountze, passed away at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

    A native of San Augustine, he was a lifetime resident of Hardin County. He was a Bail Bondsman and proudly served his country in the US Army.

    George was preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Mattie Lou Bland Ponder, son Ricky Ponder and brother Jack Ponder.

    Suvivors include sons George Elvin Ponder, Jr. and wife Talisa and Gary Frank Ponder; daughter Kimberly Ann Ponder and fianc? Matthew Peeples; step-sons Bryan Harvey and Ray Harvey; sisters Bobbie Walton and husband Marlin, Vonnie Stover and husband Ervil, Phyllis Andrews and husband Charles, Mary Lou Stringer and husband Preston, and Rhonda Kay Dickerson and husband David; brothers James Earl Ponder, Lamar Ponder and wife Colleen, T. L. Ponder and wife Sheila, Phillip Ponder and wife Linda and Marvin Ponder and wife Sherry; eighteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

    Funeral services at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. A graveside committal will be at Liberty Hill Cemetery in San Augustine.

    George married Ida Pearl Lawrence on 13 Aug 1962, and was divorced on 29 Oct 1975 in Hardin, Texas. Ida was born on 31 Oct 1945; died on 29 Jan 2014 in Texas. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Rickey Ponder

    Funeral Services for Rickey Ponder, 28, of Silsbee were held Wednesday, July 13, 1994, at the chapel of R.S. Farmer Funeral Directors in Silsbee. Interment followed at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery in Silsbee.

    He died Monday, July 11.

    Ponder was a native of San Augustine County and was an ironworker. He had lived in Silsbee for several years.

    Survivors: a daughter, Kourtney Ponder of Silsbee; father and step-mother, George and Linda Ponder of Silsbee; mother and step-father, Ida and Bobby Johnson of Rye, Texas; sisters Kimberly Ponder of Silsbee and Renee Farr of Cleveland; and brothers George Ponder Jr of Kirbyville, and Gary Ponder, Bryan Harvey and Roy Harvey, all of Silsbee.
