    A graveside service for Walter Lamar Looney, 78, of Hartselle was Friday, Oct. 22, at 11 a.m. at Burningtree Cemetery with Dr. Terry L. Greer officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

    Mr. Looney died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, at his residence. He was born March 15, 1926, in Morgan County to Walter F. Looney and Callie Stephenson Looney. He retired from CSX after 32 years of service. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a member of Cahaba Shrine Temple of Huntsville and Masonic Lodge No. 29 of Decatur. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II. Mr. Looney was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Looney.

    He is survived by his daughter, Martha Letson and husband, Stanley, of Hartselle; three granddaughters, Misty Aven of Trinity, April Aldredge of Georgia and Kristin Letson of Hartselle; and one brother, Lewis Looney of Trinity.
