    Joseph Michael Hogan, affectionately known as "JoJo" to his family and friends, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022 as the result of an accident in Many, Louisiana.

    JoJo was born in Lufkin, Texas December 5, 2000 to Billy Michael Hogan and Dawn Marie Briggs Hogan.

    He was a well known, a lifetime resident of Sabine County where as a child you often see him at ball games and events with his mother, Dawn or sister, Kelly. He was a member of the Hemphill Class of 2020 and is remembered by friends and family as fun loving and always up for a good time.

    He was known for his love of Miller Lite and riding buggies in the mud. He also enjoyed noodling and being on the lake with his family and friends. He loved his family and his nephews were his world. He would go golfing with them and even named his work truck after them, K&C (Kason & Carter). He was a talented diesel mechanic and he could fix anything from 4 wheels to 18 wheels.

    JoJo is survived by his mother, Dawn Hogan and husband, Randy, of Nacogdoches, Texas, his sisters, Kelly Holifield and husband, David, of Hemphill and Angel Hogan of Nacogdoches, Texas, his brother, Matthew Hogan and wife, Destiny of Nacogdoches, Texas, aunt, Tara Huffman and cousin, John Huffman, nieces, Brinley Jo and Avery and nephews, Kason, Carter and Langston, Kaylee, Kreed and Kross along with many, many more friends and family.

    He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Hogan, grandmother, Sue Nell Hogan (61270814), grandfather, R. L. Hogan (33195695), and uncle, Thomas Jones (220833438).

    Visitation will be held from 5~8pm, Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

    Funeral services will begin at 11am, Friday, September 30, 2022 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel.

    Burial will follow services where Joseph will be buried beside his father in Lows Chapel Cemetery.

    Serving as pallbearers are Kason Jolly, Aaron Cordray, Tyler Frick, Jordan Hanzel, Matthew Hogan, Josh Johnson, Justin Johnson, Jason Jones, Kaleb McGee, Hunter Meeks, Sarah Moore and Devan Newman.
