    Robert Earl Ferguson, SR., 75, passed away Saturday morning in his home in the Springhill Community near Hemphill. He was born in the Springhill Community to Ivy M. and Mollie Frances Conner Ferguson. Robert worked as an insurance agent and car salesman before retiring. He had served in the U.S. Navy, was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, and the Littleton Fowler Masonic Lodge No.305 in Hemphill.

    Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years Sylvia Ferguson of Hemphill, his sons; Robert Earl Ferguson, Jr. and his wife Linda of Fleetwood, PA, Martin Ferguson and his wife Brandie of Minden, LA, his daughter Sonja Barnes and her husband Brian of The Woodlands, TX, his sisters; Frances Milner of Cypress, TX, Patsy Canzoneri and her husband Joe of DePere, WS, beloved sister-in-law Gayle Ferguson of Hemphill, and five grandchildren: David Williams, Mollie Barnes, Sam Ferguson and wife Tiffany, Josh Ferguson, and Katie Ann Ferguson. Robert was preceded in death by his brother I.W. Ferguson, his sisters; Verna Ebarb and Dorothy Welch.

    Visitation will be from 6:00PM until 9:00PM, Monday, June 30, 2014, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will be at 10:00AM, Tuesday, July 1, 2014, in the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with burial following in the Springhill Cemetery.
