Bro. Hugh Sparks

Funeral Services for Bro. Hugh Sparks, 73, of San Augustine were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 1994, at the Wyman Roberts Funeral Chapel in San Augustine. Interment followed at Liberty Hill Cemetery.

He died Sunday, July 31, at Woodland Heights Medical Center hospital in Lufkin.

Bro. Sparks had served 28 years a pastor of the Liberty Springs United Methodist Church in Sabine County near Milam. He was a lifelong resident of the San Augustine County area.

Survivors: wife, Inez Sparks of San Augustine, a daughter, Debbie Adkins of Athens; a son H.B. Sparks of Center; three sisters, Frances Maxwell and Betty Jean Cartwright, both of San Augustine, and Claudine Selden of Longview; a brother, Beeman Sparks of San Augustine; and six grandchildren.

Anna (daughter of Bronson Cooper King and Marie Patterson) was born on 20 Jan 1926 in Sabine County, Texas; died on 30 Mar 2011 in Tyler, Smith County, Texas; was buried on 3 Apr 2011 in Liberty Hill Cemetery, Bland Lake, San Augustine County, Texas.
