    At the time of the 1900 Sabine County, Texas census, Emma Cobb was living with her grandparents, Elisha and Anne MASON in Sabine County, Texas. Elisha was born Nov 1842 in Tennessee, Anne born 1839 in Georgia, the mother of one child, not living, and Emma, listed as granddaughter, was shown as born in Jun 1880, age 19, Single, born in Texas with her father aslo born in that state, her mother in Louisiana.

    Verna Macie Weaver

    Verna Macie Weaver, 70, of Lumberton died Sept. 4, 1997, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

    A nurse's aide, Mrs. Weaver was a native of Pineland and had lived in Lumberton five years.

    Survivors: her husband, Henry V. Weaver of Lake Charles, Louisiana; a daughter, Judith Coleman of Lumberton; brothers, Robert E. Jacks, Jr. of Vidor and Larry Bean Jacks of Buna; a sister, Murrell Baker of Silsbee, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel of R. S. Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Interment followed at Centerview Cemetery near Pineland.

    Robert E. "Bob" Jacks Jr.

    Robert E. "Bob" Jacks Jr., 62, of Vidor died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at his residence.

    Jacks, a native of Pineland, had lived in Vidor 17 years and was a retired seaman. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in Korea.

    Survivors: wife, Linda Jacks of Vidor; son, Victor Jacks of Kountze; a daughter, Myra Carpenter of Palatka, Florida; step-son, Tommy Davis of Vidor; brother, Larry Jacks of Buna; sister, Murrell Baker of Silsbee; and six children.

    Funeral services were held Sept. 7 at Vidor Memoral Funeral Home's chapel, Vidor. Interment followed at Restlawn Memorial Cemetery in Vidor.
