William Paul Maund left peacefully with his stepson, Billy, by his side to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, December 26. He was born July 25th, 1940 in Hemphill, Texas to William Belmont Maund and Gladys Burns Maund. He grew up in Hemphill and was baptized on May 20, 1951 at Bethany Baptist Church in Milam. His family later moved to League City and Paul graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1958 and enlisted in the Air Force serving 4 years as a radio intercept operator, call sign AFA5LTS, in Pakistan and Wurtsmith AFB in Oscoda, Michigan. After his Air Force service, Paul attended University of Houston for 4 years as an electronics major. He was an avid Ham Radio Operator, call sign K5LTS, which aided in his career as an electronic technician, primarily with Shell Oil Company. He lived in Katy for many years, marrying Barbara in 1970 spending 41 years with her and her children, Teresa and Todd. Paul retired in Hot Springs, AR for a year until moving back to Texas in Longview. Paul met Mary Cole Cleary in early 2012 in the hospice grief support group where both had lost their spouses in 2011. They married a year later and enjoyed 23 trips together visiting family, friends and especially loved cruising. Paul and Mary were as giddy as teenagers together and were well known frequent visitors of Pizza King, McAlister's Deli, The Catch and Olive Garden restaurants in Longview. Paul also enjoyed being near his 4 step-great-grandchildren and watching them grow over the last 7 years. He passionately enjoyed Blue Bell Ice Cream, Amish pretzels, Root Beer, spending time with family and attending Mobberly Baptist Church.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Belmont and Gladys Maund; his brother, Melvin Maund; his sister, June Maund Pearce Kale; an infant brother and sister that died at birth; his first wife of 41 years, Barbara Jane Maund; his second wife of 9 years, Mary Cole Cleary Maund; and his stepson from his first marriage, Todd Rigelman.

He is survived by his stepdaughter from his first marriage, Teresa Hesson and her family and stepson from his second marriage, Billy Cleary and his family.

Paul will be remembered as a very kind gentleman that was quick witted and always willing to help.
