According to the obituary of Dollie Butler Ponder, she was born to Homer Leon and Millie Blanch Butler on April 23, 1917...but is not listed with the family as of either the 1920 or 1930 census. Additionally, Dollies obituary says that she was predeceased by one sister and four brothers. It is presumed the sister referred to in the obituary was Ina, which would leave Fanie otherwise unaccounted for. It therefore appears likely, but is not proven, that Dollie and Fannie were actually the same person. The reason for the subsequent name change is not known.

Homer married Mable "Millie" Blanche Huffman on 23 Dec 1909 in Sabine County, Texas. Mable (daughter of Ashley James Huffman and Nancy E. Buckley) was born on 25 Feb 1889 in Sabine County, Texas; died on 18 Dec 1946 in San Augustine, San Augustine County, Texas; was buried in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Sabine County, Texas.
