Monday, Jan. 17th 1916 occured the death of Ervenia Mary Huebotter at Tokio Texas from pnuemonia. She was the daughter of William and Mary Binkleman, pioneers of Marion. Ervenia was born Nov. 11th 1874 at Perry's Mill, Town of Dupont, now the Village of Marion. Jan. 11th, 1908 she married William D. Huebotter of Burnham, Texas. Only a few short years of wedded life and she was called, leaving a fond husband and three motherless boys.
Ervenia's early life was passed at Marion with her many friends and associates and was a general favorite. She became a member of the M.E. Church in her youth and in both Church and Sunday School was a devoted and constant worker. After completing High School in Marion, she attended the Normal at Oshkosh. From there she went to Valpariso, Ind., and graduated in the school of Expression. While at that college, she met her husband, a student in the department of law. Since their marriage, they have made their home in the state of Texas.
The sad news of her loss was a shock to the people of this vicinity, a week ago Monday, when told of her death. Her sister Luella, started upon notice of her illness, but reached Tokio only in time to accompany the husband, babies and remains of Ervenia to her old home. Tuesday, Jan, 25th 1916, the body of the departed was laid at rest in the Dupont Cemetery, by the side of a loved brother and sister.
Funeral services were held at the residence of her brother, Jay Binkleman, conducted by the Rev. W. Taylor, Pastor of the M.E. Church of Marion. Left of the family to mourn her absence are her husband and children, a father and mother, two sisters and one brother.
Pall Bearers: Paul Michaelis, Neal Case, E.E. Ramsdell, John Buhr, R. Churchill, John Laughlin.
