  1. 1.  Lucy Ann E. McLemore was born about 1827 in Southampton County, Virginia; and died.

    Notes:

(Research):Lucy's father died without a will shortly after she was born. Apparently David M. MASON was initially appointed the child's legal guardian, as he filed an accounting for his tenure as such from 1828 to the mid 1830's (Greensville Will Book 5, p. 474); he had been security on Claiborne and Sarah's marriage bond. Then Clifton HARRISON (apparently Lucy's uncle) became her guardian for a brief time before his own death in the mid to late 1837; Harrison's estate was committed to the hands of the sheriff for administration, and the sheriff was order to "render before Master COBB and account of said Clifton's guardianship of Lucy Ann McLEMORE"; this order was entered November 30, 1837 (Southampton Order Book 18, p. 345). Finally Francis Y. JONES, husband of Lucy's aunt Julia, was appointed on April 4, 1842 (Greenville Will Book 6, p. 139), showing payment of the remaining funds on hand to Willam M. EVERETT to whom Lucy was married pursuant to a marriage bond issued January 17, 1842 (with JONES as security on their bond-Southampton Marriage Register, pp. 515,725). (James L. McLemore, III, pp. 67, 68).

Lucy married William M. Everett on 17 Jan 1842 in Southampton County, Virginia. William was born before 1827; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
