Bertha Nancy Clark, 95, of Weirgate died Sunday, May 18, 2003 at Hemphill Care Center in Hemphill. Mrs. Clark was a native of the Survey Community and a longtime resident of the area. Survivors: a son, Joe B. CLARK and wife Shirley of Burkeville; a grandson Joe CLARK Jr. and wife Adriana of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Kimberly COLLINS and husband Robert of Jasper; and four great-grandchildren, Allison COLLINS, Trey CLARK, Rebecca COLLINS, and Kaitlyn CLARK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil M. CLARK. Funeral services are set for 2:30 p.m. today at Burkeville Church of God in Burkeville with Bro. Vance Purtell officiating. Interment will follow at Burkeville City Cemetery. Walter Smith Funeral Home of Newton, directors.

Bertha married Basil Monroe Clark on 20 Jan 1937. Basil (son of William Joseph "Joe" Clark, Sr. and Visey "Viccie" Lula Williams) was born on 26 Apr 1915 in Clarktown Community, Sabine County, Texas; died on 4 Aug 1985 in Newton County, Texas; was buried in Burkeville City Cemetery, Burkeville, Newton County, Texas.
