His Texas Death certificate showed that he was married, a resident of 2309 Bertrand, Houston, Texas, and machinist in the textile industry. Informan was his daughter, Ann LOUT.

Notes:

Willard Edward James, age 77 died December 28, 2009 in the Sabine County Hospital, Hemphill, Texas.

Mr. James was born on February 7, 1932 in Sabine County.

Willard lived and worked in Houston for years with Smith Industry Steel Fabrication. He moved back to Pineland three years ago after retirement.

Willard is survived by four sisters, Mildred Lamb of Bridge City, Texas, Ruby Dickerson and Reba Cooper both of Pineland, Texas and Florine Pitre of Hemphill.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben, Odis and Marvin James.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, December, 31, 2009 at 2pm in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Burial will follow in the Myrtle Springs Cemetery, Geneva, Texas.

Mildred Estelle Lamb, 84, of Geneva, Texas passed Thursday, August 17, 2017 at her residence.

Millie was born in Geneva, Texas on August 14, 1933 to Edward and Lula McGown James. She was a member of Geneva Methodist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She retired from Green Acres Group Home after 25 years as a caregiver.

She is survived by her sons, Haley Arnold and wife, Linda, of Bridge City, Texas, Tommy Arnold of Geneva, Texas, and Vance Arnold of Hemphill, Texas; daughter, Sandy Carr and husband, Daryl, of Geneva, Texas; sisters, Ruby Dickerson of Yellowpine, Texas, Reba Cooper of Pineland, Texas, and Florine Pitre of Hemphill, Texas; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Arnold and grandson, Tommy Douglas Arnold, and brothers, Willard James, Ben James, Otis James, and Marvin James.

Visitation for Mrs. Lamb will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2017 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Myrtle Springs Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home.

Reba Jean Cooper, 81, of Pineland, Texas passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at Harbor Hospice in Jasper, Texas.

She was born July 9, 1942 in Milam, Texas to Edward James and Lula McGown James. She was a graduate of Hemphill High School and had worked as a secretary for the Sabine County Sheriff's Office for many years. A longtime resident of Sabine County, she had moved to Fort Worth with her husband when she was only 17 years old. They returned to Pineland in 1979 where she became a member of First Baptist Church.

Reba was the best wife and mother on the planet. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed taking care of them. Everyone loved her and in return, she loved them.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years and 7 months, Arlon Cooper of Pineland; daughter, Tammy Gilchrest and husband, Garnett, of Gordan, Texas; son, Tony Cooper and wife, Lisa, of Azle, Texas; sisters, Ruby Lois Dickerson of Yellowpine and Florine James Pitre of Hemphill; grandchildren, Craig Cooper, John-Marc Cooper, Julia Cooper, Dakota Joy and Garnett Caden Gilchrest; and great grandchild, Joye Cooper.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lula James; and siblings, Willard James, Mildred James Lamb, Jesse Ben James, Odis Print James, and Marvin Wayne James.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Cates officiating.

Burial will follow services in Cooper-Harris Cemetery.
