Cramer of Chicago, who was the author of "The Family of Johan Helfer Cramer (Revolutionary War Pension W-2762) With Historical Background." Clarence reported that his father's estimate of his forebears could be summarized as follows: "The Cramers --- They all owned their own farms, lived to an old age, were exceedingly strong charactered people, raised large families, good Christians, never had a divorce or lawsuit in their history."
