    Mary E. Kuykendall daughter of Stephen and Frances [Stuart] Williams born in White County 13 June 1862 died 8 May 1940 at Bone Gap, Ill. 77 years 10 months 25 days resided in White County most of her life except the last five years at the home of her daughter Mrs. Elvis Nelson of Bond GAp. She wed 4 April 1880 to Noah C. Kuykendall. Three children, one son Elmer Edgar preceded her in death in infancy, her husband died 23 Dec 1917. Leave two daughters Mrs. Nola M. Hale of Carmi, Mrs. Iva M. Nelson of Bone Gap, 6 grandchildren, one brother Jonathan Williams of Burnt Prairie, one sister Mrs. Julia Kuykendall of Crossville. She was a foster mother of Mrs. Maud Chalfant, who made her home with her until grown. Funeral at the home of her daughter. Services at McHenry Church with burial at Kuykendall Cemetery
