At the time of the 1860 census, he was living with his parents in Precint 2 of Robertson County, Texas, listed as 2 and born in Texas. In 1880, he was listed as a laborer, age 22, born in Texas. He was still in Roberston County, Texas, in the home of E. D. and Emily Pruitt.
