James Michael Boynton

James (Mike) Michael Boynton, age 76, of Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. Mike was born February 23, 1945 to Seth and Emily Boynton. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Zoe Boynton; children, Kelly (Eric) Bjorkman, Seth (Jenessa) Boynton; sister, Cathy (Marvin) Jaques; granddaughter Piper Bjorkman; grandson, Barrett Boynton; niece Carey Goddard; nephew Jonathan Jaques; other relatives and friends. Mike is preceded in death by his daughter Emily Boynton. Mike married Zoe (Chudly) Boynton on December 27, 1968 in Great Falls, Montana. Mike and Zoe moved to various locations but came to Lincoln and made this their permanent home in 1987. They raised their two children Kelly and Seth in Lincoln. Mike enjoyed watching his two children play sports throughout their high school and college careers.

Mike was trained as a pilot and enjoyed his career in this area. Mike brought his family to Lincoln to take over his father's flying career with Forke Brother Auctioneers. He loved to fly to sales and worked closely with this company. In 1991, Mike became the corporate pilot for Lincoln Plating, now known as Lincoln Industries. He spent many hours in the air flying, building friendships and focusing on the safety of his passengers.

Mike retired from Lincoln Industries in 2011 to enjoy his time at home. During retirement, Mike enjoyed spending time reading, working outdoors and most of all spending time with his two grandchildren; Piper and Barrett.

The family will have a private service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family can be sent to 2130 S 17th St. Suite 200 in care of Eric Bjorkman with local charities to be designated at a later date by Mike's grandchildren.
