The September 20, 2006 "Sabine County Reporter" had a picture of the Milam, Texas, First Grade through High School--Spring 1927. A William White was pictured. It is not known what grade he was in, or if indeed it was the same William White. The photo was submitted to the "Sabine County Reporter" by Robert E. "Ted" Finley of Van Nuys, California.

As of the 1930 census, William was living with his sister and brother-in-law, Beulah and Roy Buckley, in Port Arthur, Texas. Both William and Roy were worker as laborers in the refining business.

Notes:

His death certificate, viewable online at FamilySearch.org, Texas Deaths, 1890-1976, indicated he was married, and that he was employed at the Treating Department of Texaco. He died of a self-inflicted shotgun wound.

Obituary

Clinton Buckley

Graveside rites for Clinton Leland Buckly, 71, of Beaumont were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, 1995, at Gravehill Cemetery in Sabine County. Arrangements were handled by Carroll-Wallace Funeral Home in Beaumont.

He died Friday, Jan. 6, 1995, at a Beaumont hospital.

Buckley, a native of Sabine County, had lived in the Beaumont area several years. He was a U.S. Marine Air Corps veteran of Workd War II and the owner/operator of Buckley's Exxon Station.

Survivors: wife, Gerry Buckley of Beaumont; mother Beulah Hoffpauir of Pt. Arthur; a son, Lee Buckley of Beaumont; daughter, Pamelaw Baldwin of Beaumont; a sister, Louise McElwee of Pt. Arthur; and three grandchildren.
