An article about the Ingle Family of Bronson can be found in The Sabine County Reporter, in a column titled "Farm Road 1...From one end the other" March 7, 2018, pages 6 and 7. It noted that Mack "served a couple of years in prison for murdering Ben Garlington, but always said he didn't remember killing him. Apparently, several bottles were emptied before Ben Garlington's death, and when Mack Ingle sobered up, he found the body."

Obituary: Mrs. W.A. Fullen Buried at Newton. Funeral services for Mrs. W.A. Fullen, step-mother of Otis Fullen, official of the Security State bank, Mrs. F.B. Kee, and W. B. Ernestine "Teeny" Miller Young, 76, of Palmer died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, in Palmer. Mrs. Young was born March 11, 1926, as a daugther of the late Lela (Gooch) and Eli Garlington and had lived in Lancaster several years before moving to Palmer four years ago. She was a retired inspector and supervisor for the ATT Company, now known as TYCO. Survivors: a son, Lewis Miller of Palmer; a step-son, J.D. Miller of Jasper; a sister, Connie Sheffield of Roganville; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Artti "Preacher" Miller. Funeral services were held Nov. 1 at Forest Oaks Funeral Home chapel in Jasper. Interment was at North Baptist Cemetery in Jasper County.

Nacogdoches - Services for J.C. Chance, 82, of Nacogdoches, were held Tuesday, Feb. 24 in the Family Funeral Care Chapel with burial in the Fielder Cemetery.

Mr. Chance was born May 8, 1921 in San Augustine County the son of Maggie Mae (Sturrock) and James Eli Chance and died Friday, Feb 20 in a Nacogdoches nursing facility.

Mr. Chance graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1939. He proudly served his country by serving three years in the United States Navy during World War II and he was honorably discharged on Nov. 15, 1945. He begun working for a major tire company in September 1947 and stayed with the tire industry as a truck tire salesman until 1999. He was born the second time on Jan. 12, 1969 when he became a Christian and a member of Garden Oaks Church of Christ. He continued serving the Lord throughout his life.

Mr. Chance was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Charlene Chance; grandson, Scott Gamel; and nine siblings.

Annie Lou Simmons

Annie Lou Simmons, age 86, of Newton died July 2, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. She was born on July 14, 1915 in Milam, Texas and had lived in Newton for 76 years. Funeral services were held on Friday, July 5, 2002 at 2:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Newton. Burial followed at Old Union Cemetery in Newton County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramsey Tom Simmons; brothers Joe Fullen, Isaac Fullen and John Bertis Fullen and sisters, Pearlie Mae Fullen Bobbitt and Ollie Fay Fullen Smith.

John Bertis Fullen

John Bertis Fullen, 84, of Newton died Saturday, February 9, 2002 in Silsbee.

Fullen was a native of Milam and had lived in Newton several years. He was retired from Sun Oil Company and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors: a son John B. Fullen, Jr. of Newton; four daughters, Annette Betz, Ruth Bell, and Winona Alice Roberts, all of Newton, and Nita Nolen of Silsbee; a sister Annie Lou Simmons of Newton; eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Feb. 12 at Walter Smith Funeral Home chapel in Newton. Interment was at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Sabine County.

Graveside rites for Selma Boyett Torrence, 72, of Hemphill were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Weaver Cemetery in Newton County with Bro. Wendell Ferguson officiating. Arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill.

She died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 1994, at Hemphill Care Center.

Born Nov. 21, 1921 in Sabine County, she was a longtime resident of Beaumont before returning to Sabine County two years ago. She was a Baptist and retired homemaker.

Survivors: a son Jerry L. Bragg of Beaumont; a sister, Loren B. Wood of Hemphill; a brother, Arbie W. Boyett of Hemphill; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Arbie Wesley Boyett, 77, of Route 2, Bronson, died early Tuesday, Jun 10, 2003, in Sabine County. Born Jan. 18, 1926, as a son of the late Hamp H. and Mittie (Weaver) Boyett, he was a longtime resident of Sabine County and retired as a plywood operator of Temple-Inland Forest Products in Pineland. Boyett was a member of the Rosevine Baptist Church. He is survived by a sister, Loren B. Wood of Sabine County; and nieces and nephews, Jerry BRAGG, Terry WOOD, Robin POWELL, Linda BOYETT, Robert BOYETT, and Kenneth BOYETT. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Cliff Durham, pastor of Rosevine Baptist Church, officiating. Interment followed at Weaver Cemetery.

Lorene was born in Hemphill on November 3, 1927 to Hamp Boyett and Mittie Weaver Boyett. She had lived in Beaumont where she attended Chenier Business College and earned her Associates Degree. She worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for Wood & Son Motors. She moved back to Sabine County 40 years ago and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hemphill.

Over the years, she helped to organize fundraisers for Alzheimer's Foundation of America and she helped out by volunteering at Twin Lake's Nursing Home. She loved being outdoors and working in her yard and she loved to color her "paintings".

Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Wesley Wood, Jr..

She is survived by her longtime best friend and loving companion, Bill Long of Pendleton Harbor; son, Terry Wesley Wood and wife, Cindy, of Beaumont; daughter, Robin Powell and husband, Kelly, of Sour Lake; grandchildren, Tiffany Powell and fianc?', Jody Harrison, Jason Hale, Brent Powell and wife, Andrea, Eric Powell, Megan Zimmerman and husband, William, Wesley Wood and wife, Cyrah, and Dylan Wood; and great grandchildren, Isabella, Ellie, Tracen, Layla, Kahl, Brexley, River, and Rowan.

Graveside services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021 in Weaver Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Troy Richardson officiating.

Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Hudie W. Ener, 92, of Yellowpine died Friday, May 13, 2005 at his residence. Ener was born March 29, 1913 in Yellowpine as a son of the late Margaret (Sanford) and Hartman Ener and was a longtime resident of Sabine County. He retired from Union Oil Company as a refinery worker and was a member of Yellowpine Macedonia Baptist Church. Survivors: wife, Jessie Ener of Yellowpine; sons, Terrell Ener of Cherokee, Iowa, Douglas Ener of Honey Island, and Wilson Ener of Saratoga; daughter, Adell WALTERS of Yellowpine; 15 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great granchildren. Marcus Dwain Ener

Funeral services for Marchu Dwain Ener, 66, of Beaumont were held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Kelley & Watkins Funeral Home's chapel in Beaumont. Interment was at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Jefferson County.

He died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 1995.

Ener was born July 29, 1928, in Pineland and was a graduate of Brookeland High School. He had lived in Beaumont 35 years and was a district manager with Farmer's Insurance Group of Companies. Ener was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Sunday School superintendant with First Baptist Church.

Surivivors: wife, Clifford Marie Ener of Beaumont; daughters, Suzanne Garrett and Debbie Richmond, both of Beaumont, sisters, Etha Coward of Kountze and Sue Ketchum of Silsbee; and three grandchildren.
