August 28, 1884 -- Kaigler, William W. killed in an accident last Thursday evening when he was run over by a wagon loaded with 1650 pounds of goods near Vaughan's Mill. He was 64 years old. (His) Remains carried from the home of Dr. Sparkman to China Grove for burial last Monday morning."
