Shown as Mae/May Lee or Nora Lee on the vital records of her daughter and her three oldest sons. The Alabama Death Index listing for her youngest son, Horace M. McLemore, instead lists her as Mae Lee ROSE. It is possible that she remarried sometime after the death of her husband, Erdie McLemore, in 1939.

She does share a double headstone with Erdie M. McLemore at the Higgins Cemetery, however.

Nora married Erdie B. McLemore about 1916 in Alabama. Erdie (son of Matthew Burl McLemore and Martha Ellen "Mattie" Thompson) was born in Jul 1897 in Limestone County, Alabama; died about 1939; was buried in Higgins Cemetery, Athens, Limestone County, Alabama. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Funeral for Orville E. McLemore, 67, of Decatur will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Brown Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Hines, the Rev. George Sawyer and the Rev. Roger White officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. Mr. McLemore died Friday at Huntsville Hospital. He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God, a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II and a member of American Legion Post 15. He was a construction supervisor who was born November 23, 1925, in Limestone County.

He is survived by his wife, Ella Ree McLemore; one son, Richard Orville McLemore of Trinity; three daughters, Carolyn Hudgins and Glenda Troyer, both of Decatur, and Deborah Roberts of Danville; one sister, Elaine Trousdale of Athens; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral for Richard Orville McLemore Sr. of Decatur will be Saturday, December 26, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. McLemore, who died Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at Parkway Medical Center, was born December 18, 1950, in Detroit, Mich., to Orville and Ella Ree McLemore. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by father, Orville E. McLemore.

Survivors include his mother, Ella Ree McLemore; three sons, Richard Orville McLemore Jr., Matthew Curtis McLemore and Kevin Leon McLemore; three sisters, Carolyn Hudgins and husband, Jimmy, Glenda Troyer and Gary Burnett and Deborah Roberts and husband, Donald; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hudgins, Gary Burnett, Donald Roberts, Scott Hanks, Mike Paseur and Larry Ellis.
