Mary Sibley Greer
Mary Sibley Greer, 85, of Pt. Acres died Tuesday, Jun 17, 1997, at a Pt. Arthur convalescent center.
She was a native of Sabine County and had lived in the Orange-Pt. Acres area several years.
Survivors: sons, Joe Greer and Sibley Greer, both of Pt. Acres, and Sidney Greer of LaBelle; a daughter, Dorothy HOOKER of Splendora, ten grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Pat A. Riley Funeral Home's chapel in Nederland. Interment was at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Jefferson county.

Emmie Beauchamp
Funeral services for Emmie Chambless Beauchamp, 86, of Hemphill were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. John C. Dowden officiating. Interment followed at Yellowpine Cemetery in Yellowpine.
Born May 1, 1098, in Fairdale as a daughter of the late William R. and Rilla Mae McDaniel, she was a longtime resident of Sabine County. She was a homemaker and a member of Hemphill's First United Methodist Church.
Survivors: a daughter, Billie Branson of Beaumont; a son Robert Chambless of Battle Mountain, Nevada; two sisters, Vera Smith and Dearian Love McDaniel, both of Hemphill; a brother, W. R. McDaniel of Jasper; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Nephews will be pallbearers.

William Robert "W. R." McDaniel, Jr., age 96 of Carthage, Texas and a former resident of Wiergate and Jasper, Texas died on Monday, January 19, 2009 in Tyler, Texas. He was born in Sabine Co., Texas on April 25, 1912 and was a retired carpenter.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Hamlet McDaniel, parents, William McDaniel and Rilla Martin McDaniel, brothers, Thorton, Leon and Albert McDaniel and sisters, Vera Smith, Emmie Chambless and Dearian McDaniel. He is survived by son, W. Dearian Love McDaniel, 87, of Hemphill died at 12:58 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2003, at Hemphill Care Center. She was born Sept. 22, 1915, in Newton County and had lived in the Hemphill area several years. Mrs. McDaniel was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors: husband, Nolan Ernest McDaniel of Hemphill; step-sons, Weldon McDaniel of Hemphill and James David McDaniel of Yellowpine; step-daughters, Margie Nell MILLER of Brookeland and Belinda Lee McDaniel of Silsbee; a brother W.R. McDANIEL of Jasper, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill with Bro. Vance Purtell and Bro. D.W. Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Sims
Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Sims, 89, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2010. Funeral services were Wednesday, March 31 at Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Arlington, Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery, Irving.
Mrs. Sims was born near Hemphill and lived there while growing up. She moved back to Hemphill in 1965 and lived there until 1978 when she moved to Grand Prarie to be near her boys. She attended school in Hemphill. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan Jay and Mitty Smith; husband, Forest Earl Sims; and son, John David White, Jr.
Survivors include her sons, Benny Ray White and wife Marilyn; Paul David White and wife Maria; Marion Elno White and wife Inez, and Forrest Earl Sims, Jr. and wife Lisa; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as numerous other loving family and friends.

Ida Exanna Clark
Ida Exanna Clark, 96, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, in her home in the old community of Clarktown near Hemphill. She was born in Fairmount to George Ellis and Mattie Matilda Sibley McNaughten and had lived in that area all of her life. Mrs. Clark was a member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Fairmount.
Mrs. Clark is survived by her son A. B. Clark Jr and his wife, Nell of Hemphill; grandchildren, A. B. Clark, III and Susan D. Clark and their mother, Viriginia Jo Clark. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Victoria Luckey and Tyler A. Clark.
Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband, A. B. Clark Sr. and her daughter, Ida Jane Clark.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 23, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Fairmount Cemetery.

Lula Mae Smith, 82, of Fairmount died early Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, in Hemphill.
Mrs. Smith was bonr Aug. 2, 1917 in Sabine County as a daughter of the late Ellix and Mattie McNaughten. She was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She and her family had formerly operated Smith's TV Sales and Services Inc in Hemphill.
Survivors: sons, Tony Gerald Smith of Fairmount and Jerry Wayne Smith of Kountze; a sister, Exanna Clark of Fairmount; five granchildren, Linda Beasley, John Smith, Jason Smith, Troy Smith Jr., and Artie Easley; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy A. Smith.
Funeral services wsere held Nov. 28 at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Wilbur A. Hornberger and Bro. Wayne Alford officiating. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery in Fairmount.

Audice Green McNaughten, 75, of Fairmount died at 10:15 p.m. Monday, May 19, 1997, at Memorial Medical Center in San Augustine.
Born Nov. 21, 1921, as a son of the late George Ellis and Mattie Matilda (Sibley) McNaughten, he was a lifelong resident of Fairmount. McNaughten was a retired timber spotter with Temple-Inland Forest Products and was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.
Survivors: wife, Evelyn Stewart McNaughten of Fairmount; and two sisters, Lula Mae SMITH of Hemphill and Ida Exanna CLARK of Clarktown.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. W. A. Hornberger and Bro. Wayne Alford officiating. Interment followed at Fairmount Cemetery.

She was employed by the Deep East Texas Electric Co-op in San Augustine for many years, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter, and the White Rock Missionary Baptist Church in San Augustine County, Texas.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday on October 20, 2012, in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in San Augustine County. Inturnment will be in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in San Augustine. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the the White Rock Baptist Fellowship Hall from 12:30 until 1:30 P.M. before the service on Saturday.

Alton Clifton McDaniel
Alton Clifton "Slick" McDaniel died on September 16, 2007, after an illness.
He was born on June 10, 1927, and was a lifetime resident of Yellowpine, and a member of Operating Engineers Local 450.
Survivors: brother, R.L. McDaniel and wife, Bonnie of Yellowpine; sister, Ollie Faye Sparks of Yellowpine and Merlene Davidson of Hemphill.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Coussons.
Funeral services were held in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, Sept. 18. Interment followed in Yellowpine Cemetery.

Merlene "Memmie" Davidson, 80, died in her home Tuesday morning, July 12, 2011, after an illness. She was born in Yellowpine, TX, to Leon Redic and Vada Solly McDaniel. Merlene has lived in Hemphill all her life and was a member of the Yellowpine Macedonia Baptist Church. She worked as a substitute teacher for the Hemphill ISD and as a clerk in retail sales.
She is survived by her daughter Diana Davidson of Hemphill, her brother R.L. McDaniel and his wife Bonnie of Yellowpine, her sister Ollie Faye Sparks of Yellowpine and numerous nieces and nephews. Merlene was preceded in death by her husband Billy Davidson, her son David Leon Davidson, her brother Clifton McDaniel, her sister Louise Coussons and nephew Ray Coussons.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, July 14, in the Yellowpine Macedonia Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Yellowpine Cemetery.

Louise McDaniel Coussons, 70, of Nacogdoches died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches.
Mrs. Coussons was born Dec. 1, 1935, in Sabine County and had formerly lived in Johnson City before moving to Nacogdoches eight years ago. She was a member of Old North Church in Nacogdoches and was a retired school secretary and legal secretary. Danny Lee Moody, 67, died Friday afternoon in his home after a brief battle with cancer. Danny was born in Beaumont, TX, to Denton and Adalene Smith Moody. After the death of his mother, Danny was raised by his grandparents Carl V. and Vera Smith. Danny has lived in Sabine County all his life and was a well known and respected carpenter in the county. He spent a number of years building and maintaining Fin and Feather Resort for George Pickett. Danny was a member of the Church of God.
Danny is survived by his wife Opal Moody of Hemphill; his son Brad Moody of Hemphill, two grandchildren; Zachary Chad McGee-Moody and Ethan Allen Moody of Hemphill; three sisters, Patricia Moody Cordray and her husband John of Carthage, Lanell Moody Hardy and her husband Marlin of Center, and Sue Moody Loper of Huntington. He is also survived by three brothers; Rev. Charles Moody and his wife Linda of Hemphill, Larry Moody and his wife Dana of Hemphill and Gary "Chuck" Moody of Geneva. Also surviving is one Uncle Delton Moody and his wife Jean of Cut and Shoot, TX, and a number of nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends including a special friend Tamara. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and infant sister Katherine Moody.

Larry received his education from Hemphill ISD and spent his life working in general construction work, operating bulldozers, drag lines and other types of heavy equipment. He was also a member of the Littleton- Fowler Masonic Lodge No. 305. He loved living on Toledo Bend, fishing and hunting in his spare time. However, his greatest loves were his wife, children and grandchildren. His eyes would shine as he spoke lovingly of them and what they meant to him.
Due to health reasons, Larry did not attend church regularly, but he often testified to his family that he was a believer and a recipient of GOD'S amazing grace.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 22 years, Dana Moody, of Six Mile Community; daughters, Alisa Usher and husband, Doug, of Cleveland, Texas, Heather Snow and husband, James and Kristy LeAnn Moody, all of Six Mile Community; brothers, Charles Moody and wife, Linda, of Hemphill, Texas; sisters, Patricia Moody Cordray of Carthage, Texas, LaNell Moody Hardy and husband, Marlin, of Center, Texas, and Sue Loper of Longview, Texas; and grandchildren, Jaicee' Harrison, Autumn Snow, Kamden Snow, Aubre'Ann Moody, and Emersyn Kate Ferguson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Adalene Smith Moody; father, Denton Moody; baby sister, Katherine Moody; two brothers, Danny Lee Moody and Gary Steven (Chuck) Moody; and brother-in-law, John Wesley Cordray.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2019 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Moody officiating.
Burial will follow services in Fairmount Cemetery, Hemphill, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are James Snow, Josh Moody, R. J. Hester, Jay Bellett, Heather Snow, and Chase Bellett.

Gary Steven Moody, better known as "Chuck," passed from this life in his home in Geneva, Texas on June 7th, 2017, at the age of 58. He was born in Hemphill, Texas on January 24th, 1959 to Denton David Moody and Adalene Smith Moody. Chuck was the youngest of seven children, and was raised in Hemphill, Texas by his grandparents Carl Vinson and Vera Smith.
When Chuck was not excelling in his carpentry business, he was enjoying time with family and friends; most of this time being spent in the outdoors of Sabine County and Toledo Bend as an avid hunter and fisherman.
Chuck had an easy warmth about him, and could win you over with his funny stories and charming smile. He loved to make people laugh, but especially enjoyed spending time with his three granddaughters.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Laura Malinowski, his parents, Adalene and Denton Moody, brother, Danny Moody, and his grandparents, Carl V. and Vera Smith.
Chuck is survived by his son, Josh Moody and wife, Heather, of Geneva, Texas, daughter Sherrie Moody Birchell and husband, Michael of Lufkin, Texas, and daughter Rebecca Moody Bullock and fianc?, Kenith Windham of Geneva, Texas. He is also survived by his brother Charles Moody and wife, Linda of Hemphill, Texas, brother Larry Moody and wife, Dana, of Six Mile, Texas, sister Patricia Cordray of Carthage, Texas, sister Lanell Hardy and husband, Marlin of Center, Texas, sister Sue Loper of Longview, Texas, his three granddaughters; Addison Leigh Bullock, Sayree Ryann Bullock, and Brinley Renea Moody, and a host of family and friends.
Cremation is under the direction of Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill, Texas. Memorial services in honor of Chuck Moody will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 17th, 2017 at Strickland Crossing Church of God in Pineland, Texas.

Troy Gerald Smith, Jr., 45, passed away Thursday morning in the Mount Moriah Nursing Home, Hemphill, Texas. He was born in Lufkin to Troy G. Smith, Sr. and Gynger Ann Foreman. Troy has lived in Hemphill all his life and was a member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his step-mother Martha Smith of Hemphill, his sister Linda Beasley and husband Bobby Joe of Kilgore, his brother Artie Easley of Hemphill, aunt and uncle Theresa and Jerry Smith, aunt Evelyn McNaughten, nephew Craig Cooper, nieces Aulden and Kylar Easley, and cousins John and Jason Smith. Troy is preceded in death by his mother Gynger Foreman Smith and father Troy Smith.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, Friday, May 13, 2016, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, May 14, 2016, in the Fairmount Cemetery.
