Onie Mae Ener
Onie Mae Ener, 85, of Yellowpine community died Monday, Aug. 21, 1995, at Medical Center Hospital in Nacogdoches.
She was born Jan. 17, 1910 in Sabine County as a daughter of the late William Robert and Mittie Z. (McNaughten) Smith and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a homemaker and member of the Harvest Assembly of God.
Survivors: husband, Willie F. Ener of Yellowpine; a son, David Ener of Yellowpine; two daughters, Kathy Burdette and Gaynell Arney, both of Hemphill; a daughter-in-law, Lillian Ener of Yellowpine; two brothers, Eldon Smith of Wilmington, Delaware, and Emmitt Smith of Pineland; a sister, Lucille Haire of Jasper; a sister-in-law, Ellie Smith of Jasper; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Ener.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Starr Funeral Home Inc. in Hemphill with Bro. Winford Ener and Bro. W. P. Murchison officiating. Interment followed at Yellowpine Cemetery.

Elaine Wells emailed, in January 2013, that Raymond was married several times. His first wife was named Daisy Ruth, and they were the parents of Sharon Ruth and Deborah Ann, both born in the early 1950's. No records found on either the Texas Marriage or Texas Birth Indexes. Elaine said his eldest daughters lived in Newton County for quite awhile, and later moved to Houston.
His younger daughters, Kathryn and Gaynell were born during a subsequent marriage to Jackie Faubian. They were later adopted and raised by his parents. Jackie had a daughter prior to her marriage to Raymond, named Cindy, who is now deceased.

David Franklin Ener
David Franklin Ener, 61, died in the Hemphill Care Center, Friday, April 6, 2012, after an illness.
He was born in Jasper, TX, to Willie F. and Onie Smith Ener. He graduated high school in Nederland before moving with his family to Yellowpine. He had worked for Temple Inland in the raw lumber processing department in Pineland. Ener was a member of the Yellowpine Macedonia Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sisters, Kathy Brown and Danny, and Gaynell Arney and Rick, all of Hemphill; a number of nieces and nephews; and his aunt, Jessie Ener [nee Morris] of Yellowpine.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 9, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Yellowpine Cemetery in Yellowpine.
