  Notes	Obituary (Source: United States GenWeb Page, Jasper County, Texas) Funeral services were held for Sion Hawthorne, 52, at the Zion Hill Cemetery Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. The Rev. Leonard Richardson of Buna officiating. Arrangements were by the Stringer Funeral Home, Jasper. Mr. Hawthorne died suddenly in his home in Roganville about 7 o'clock Monday night. A native of Jasper County, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tim Hawthorne of Roganville. Surviving are his widow, Mittie Ge. Hawthorne of Roganville; four daughters, Mrs. Alice Spillers of Sour Lake, Mrs. Olinie Beaver of Beaumont, Mrs. Zelma Morgan of Kirbyville and Elsie Hawthorne of Roganville; eight sons Edward Hawthorne, S.C. Hawthorne, Eston Hawthorne, Arthur Hawthorne and Jack Hawthorne of Roganville, Elliott Hawthorne and Harvey Hawthorne of Beaumont, Guy Hawthorne of Segarville; six sisters Mrs. Lulu West and Mrs. Ola Jone of Kirbyville, Mrs. Lizzie Hooks of Bleakwood, Mrs. Hattie Martin of Houston, Mrs. Leachie Day of Newton and Mrs. Martha Norberg of Ashland, Ore; seven brothers, F.P Hawthorne, J.C. Hawthorne, J.T. Hawthorne, Tommie Hawthorne, and Walter Hawthorne of Kirbyville, Polk Hawthorne of Roganville and Zora Hawthorne of Buna, and two grandchildren. His headstone was inscribed "Thy Life was Beauty, Truth, Goodness, and Love."
